Diane watched as Kyle and Jack got a full look at the Abbott mansion that she had worked on for several weeks. Kyle told his mother that the new Abbott home is both stunning and beautiful. Diane begged Jack to please say something.

"It's perfect," Jack announced. "I love it. I love you. You were absolutely right." Kyle said this called for champagne. "It really is beautiful," Kyle told his mom. Jack let his wife know that she maintained the integrity of the place, adding that after he opened his eyes, he knew that this was home. Jack and Diane embraced.

Diane said that she knew making changes to the home was nearly traumatic for Jack. "If it makes it any easier, I was terrified, too," Diane confessed. She revealed she was keeping up a front. Kyle enthused, "I love it. Everyone else will, too." Jack concurred and continued to marvel at the details. Then, Jack had a flashback to a heartfelt conversation he had with his late father, John. "You're more than just my dad, you're my mentor, my best friend..." Jack had said. He had promised to keep trying to measure up to the senior Abbott; John had wondered what impact he would leave on his children, telling Jack that he would never know how much that meant to him.

Diane showed Kyle and Jack the new dining room. Jack said he couldn't wait until Traci and Ashley saw it. Diane wondered if Ashley would like it. Jack informed his wife he was sure Ashley would, and assured Diane she would be embraced by the entire Abbott family.

Diane asked if the new Abbott mansion could convince Kyle and Claire to live there. Jack asked that Kyle and Claire come by for Sunday dinner and occasional breakfasts. "This will always be my home," Kyle said. Diane hugged her son, and they professed their love for each other.

Kyle took photos of the new home with his phone so he could show Claire the place. He said he needed to get back to Jabot and asked Jack if he'd come with him, but his dad didn't want to go quite yet. After Kyle left, Diane said Jack could tell her the truth about what he didn't like and assured him that she could take it.

Jack admitted that there were a few things he had questions about. He wondered if the molding detail was too formal. Diane chuckled that it was the original molding; it was only painted. Jack wondered if the sofa fabric was too feminine but Diane explained the Italian velvet was similar to what Traci had in her place in New York, which he loved. Jack said that after he saw it from a different angle, he realized it tied everything together. Then, Jack asked about the portrait over the fireplace.

Diane shared that she had found it in the attic; there was a note on the back, and it was a gift from Dina to John in 1956. "I could not be more impressed," Jack said. "You didn't really believe in me, did you?" Diane wondered. Jack wasn't sure if he would love the house if it were updated, but he does. He saw Diane all over the place — the way it should be. "Why did I ever doubt you?" he asked.

Jack informed Diane that she had more than earned her place here. "That means everything to me," she responded. Jack thanked his wife for reminding him that he should honor the past but not get stuck in it. "The legacy is always there," Diane said. Jack wished Dina and John could be there to see what she had done to their home. Diane admitted she was so relieved.

Chelsea greeted Adam at Society with a kiss. They took a seat, and Adam took Chelsea's hands. She asked if he was going to propose marriage. "Would that be a bad thing?" Adam asked. "Are you kidding me?" Chelsea replied. Adam queried that they could live together and raise their son, but not make a legal arrangement. Chelsea told him he was being weird. She added that remarrying would be extreme. Adam pointed out that Victor and Connor brought it up.

Chelsea asked Adam if he was serious about proposing. He surprised her by saying no, he wasn't. Adam revealed he wouldn't do it this way if he were going to do it. He did ask her if she'd work with him at Newman Media.

Adam confessed he's been considering asking Chelsea to work with him again for a while. Chelsea said media wasn't her expertise. Adam noted that she ran her own company. He believed that Chelsea had the skills for what Newman Media needed. "I think that this can work," said Adam. He suggested she could be his COO (Chief Operating Officer). "That's a big title," Chelsea responded. Adam explained he needed someone with creative ideas and someone with whom he could work well. "The way you and Sally did," Chelsea gently asked.

Adam maintained he wasn't trying to replicate what he had with Sally. He wanted something new. He theorized he could find other candidates than her, but he said having a "fit" with a colleague isn't just about their resume. He wanted someone who could see his vision and challenge him. Chelsea admitted she did that. She quipped that this ended up being a proposal after all. Adam got on one knee and asked her to be his COO. She asked him to stand up, telling patrons at Society that this wasn't what it looked like.

Adam dryly noted that the restaurant patrons were entertained by his "proposal." Chelsea said she was flattered that Adam thought highly of her skills. He said he wanted to spend more time with her. Chelsea genuinely wondered if they'd make good business partners. Adam pointed out that Connor and his challenges proved that they can work well together. He asked her to process it and think about it. "It's your decision," Adam shared. Chelsea said she'd think about it. Adam was happy that this meant it wasn't a no. Chelsea countered playfully that it didn't mean yes, either. Then, Adam playfully got on his knee and "proposed" that they order some flatbread pizza.

Adam gave Chelsea an update on Connor's baseball. She said the prospect of working with Adam would be exciting and would be a challenge. Chelsea believed that under the right circumstances, working together could happen, but there would have to be guidelines.

"You are not Sally," Adam told Chelsea after she brought up his ex-girlfriend again. She wondered if Adam would push her way. He said he needed her too much. Chelsea said she didn't mean to upset him by bringing up Sally. "I'm going to be fine no matter what you decide," Adam said. He might be disappointed, but it's Chelsea's call. She said she didn't want to leave Summer in the lurch. Adam suggested Sally and/or Chloe might be happy to step up. Chelsea took Adam's hands. She thanked him for asking her to work with him. They kissed. Society patrons clapped. Adam proposed that they get out of there now. "Proposal accepted," Chelsea said.

Audra ran into Lily at the Genoa City Athletic Club and sat down with her. She wanted to know if Lily was starting to trust Damian. Holden came in and spied the two women having a conversation, so he took a nearby seat to eavesdrop on them. Lily said she was trying to keep an open mind about Damian. Lily turned the tables on Audra. She asked her if she had any concerns about Damian and Holden. Lily wondered if Audra's personal history with Holden meant that she could be trusted.

Lily reminded Audra that when Holden and Damian first came to town, Audra lied about her past. Holden decided it was time to interrupt. Lily asked him who was running the company in Los Angeles since he and Damian were spending so much time in Genoa City.

Lily revealed to Holden that she knew that his boss was a figurehead and that his companies were owned by Aristotle Dumas. Audra suggested that Aristotle has an agenda, maybe one that involves Damian and Holden. Lily wanted to know if Holden ever met Dumas, but Holden confirmed he hadn't and said that Damian told him what he needed to know. Audra asked Holden straight up if something shady was going on between Dumas and Damian. Holden said he wouldn't do anything to betray Damian's confidence, and that he'd take a bullet for Damian if he had to. Aurdra wondered if Damian would take one for him.

Holden shot back that he and Damian were concerned about Lily's agenda in the beginning, too. He said that whether or not they stayed in town depended a lot on Amy's recovery, but added he missed Los Angeles. Audra wanted to know what was keeping him from going back. "That is a good question," Holden replied.

Damian called Holden on his phone, so he walked away to take the call. Lily theorized that Holden wasn't leaving Genoa City because of Audra. Audra countered that Damian was doing likewise because of Lily. Lily shot back that they weren't talking about her and pointed out that there was nothing casual about the connection between Audra and Holden. Lily surmised that Holden must have something on Audra. "What happened in L.A.? Some sort of complication that can come back and haunt you — or Nate?" Lily asked.
