On The Young and the Restless today, Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Victoria grew concerned about Cole’s declining health and his persistent cough.
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Lauren complimented Chelsea on her work when they ran into each other at Jabot. Chelsea asked Lauren if she could get some advice from her. Lauren happily agreed.
Next, Chelsea ran into Adam and Connor at Crimson Lights. Adam made a joke and said it would be “cringe” if Victor and Nikki donated a clubhouse in honor of Connor. Adam’s son asked his dad not to use the word “cringe.”
Chelsea revealed to Adam that she was going to bounce something off Lauren. She told Adam that he couldn’t read her mind. Adam noted that maybe he could. Connor, having left the table, returned. He wanted to know what was going on with his parents. Chelsea suggested that Adam was getting ahead of himself. Adam said he was exactly at the right place at the right time.
Lauren arrived at Crimson Lights and ordered a coffee. Chelsea said she’d like to leave Marchetti and suggested that Sally could replace her. Lauren wasn’t expecting this news. She asked Chelsea if she’d spoken to Summer yet. Chelsea said she hadn’t. She did say that Adam wanted her to be Adam’s COO. Lauren noted that it’s a big time commitment. “It would be something new and exciting,” Chelsea pointed out. She said this work could help people and have a broader reach. Chelsea shared that something has changed between her and Adam. She felt that they were closer, and they didn't engage in the petty stuff anymore. Lauren said that parents working together for the sake of their child, as Adam and Chelsea did with Connor’s OCD, can grow even stronger.
Lauren said she has faith in Sally, but wondered if she could do two jobs. Lauren suggested that Chelsea talk to Sally, and then they should both go to Summer. Lauren agreed that Chelsea going to Sally and asked if she minded if she went to work with her ex might be awkward. Lauren asked if Chelsea would want to make the move she was considering if it weren't going to be painless. Lauren added that Chelsea has her backing no matter what she does. Lauren asked Chelsea to keep her posted and then left to go back to work.
At the tack house, Victor asked Cole how he was feeling. She told him he looked a little glassy-eyed and pointed out he only had one night to recover from travel. Cole deflected that maybe he just missed her that much. He addressed Claire wanting to move in with Kyle. “Are you comfortable with this choice?” Cole asked.
Before Vicki could go into detail, Cole began coughing – a lot. He apologized but said he was fine. “That cough says otherwise,” Victoria suggested.
Cole’s cough continued, and he tried to change the subject. Vicki told Cole he was hot. “Why, thank you,” Cole said, trying to downplay his condition. Vicki informed her ex that he needed to see a doctor.
Cole tried to leave after Vicki said she was making a doctor’s appointment. She added that if tea and a pain reliever didn’t help, then he was going to go and see a doctor.
Vicki refused to let up on being concerned about Cole. He said he wanted to kick the cold. Cole wanted to go to a hotel room and get well.
At Society, Nikki asked Claire if she was comfortable with her job performance. Claire said she had some things she wanted to discuss with her. Nikki announced they were done with work, and she wanted to know what was going on in Claire’s mind.
Claire shared with Nikki that she and Kyle said, “I love you” to each other. Nikki told Claire that Victor could be quite the romantic. Nikki’s granddaughter also shared that she and Kyle are searching for their place.
Claire commented on how Nikki’s face changed when she mentioned Victor. She reminded her grandmother that she urged her to follow her heart. Claire said she wanted to fall asleep next to someone she loved and wake up feeling the same way. She did say she was concerned about how her grandfather might try to stop them.
Nikki theorized that Victor might pull one of his protective maneuvers. She offered to speak to Victor on Claire’s behalf. Claire said thanks, but added that she needed to do this herself.
Nikki informed Claire that she and Kyle had her full support, but that it would take time for Victor to come around. Claire confessed that she was worried about whether or not time would make things better or worse with Victor.
Nikki gently persisted, saying she could help Claire and Kyle with Victor. Claire agreed to let her grandmother help. Next, Nikki wanted to know where Claire and Kyle would be living. She assumed it would be somewhere near the Abbotts. Claire told Nikki that Diane did a great job on the redo of the Abbott mansion. Claire pointed out that Jack seemed thrilled with the changes. “Well, I guess Diane pulled it off,” Nikki said. “Good for her.”
At the Genoa City Athletic Club, Billy and Sally sat at the bar and got caught up. Billy informed Sally that it wasn’t going to work out with Phyllis at Abbott Communications. Billy let Sally know that Phyllis has some healing to do. “Are you okay?” Sally asked Billy. The Abbott exec added that Phyllis probably feels like he yanked a lifeline away from her. “I know she’s pissed at me right now,” Billy added. He wanted to know if Sally thought that he had made a mistake.
Sally said she didn’t think Billy would ever really let her go. Billy replied he didn’t think he would either. He pointed out that Phyllis was not good when it came to asking for help. He added that he was now in the position of needing another second-in-command. Billy wanted someone he could trust, someone who could point him in the right direction. “A teammate,” Sally suggested.
Sally pointed out to Billy that he thought that’d make a good team. Billy teased Sally that she was listening to Audra over him. A suspicious Billy added he wouldn’t comment on Sally and Audra’s friendship. “She has my back and I have hers,” Sally said about her dynamic with Audra. Sally acknowledged that Audra had made some mistakes – but she had, too, and so had Billy.
Billy changed the subject to talk about working with Sally. She said she wanted to explore the idea of working with him at Abbott Communications. Sally noted that leaving her current job would be a big decision. Billy promised Sally that Abbott Communications would value her creativity. Sally announced she was considering it and that it was Audra who reminded her what a thrill it would be starting up something new. Billy quipped that he was an Audra fan.
Billy shared with Sally that he would respect her and her input. Sally said what she missed about fashion was the joy of creating something from nothing and how that creation would bring joy to people. Sally liked the idea of making a woman feel beautiful, confident, and strong. Billy got enthused about Sally working with him. She asked him to slow his role. Sally speculated as to when she’d leave Marchetti. Billy cut her off and interjected, “when” Sally would leave.
Billy said it was enough that Sally was considering working with him. He told Sally that it was her “fault” in that her wise words reminded Billy that his heart was in media. “I love the idea of helping you create something truly brilliant,” Sally shared. She promised to get him an answer but it wouldn’t be just yet. “Just don’t drag it out,” requested Billy. “The one thing I don’t have right now is time.” Next, Billy said he’d back off or now. He went about 20 seconds before suggesting again that this would be the right move for Sally.
Claire visited her parents and brought Vicki up to speed on her conversation with Nikki. When she arrived, it appeared as if Cole was sleeping on the sofa. Claire said that Nikki would do what she could with Victor on her and Kyle’s behalf. “Good luck with that,” Cole quipped as he continued to cough.
Vicki noted that Cole’s condition was not getting better. She told him he needed more than a cup of tea. Cole continued to cough and then, he admitted that he needed to see a doctor.
