At Crimson Lights, Sally asked Audra what happened after she left her and Nate alone. Audra shared that Nate believed Claire’s accusations, and he called her a liar. She said that Nate disregarded what they had built together.

Sally gave Audra her sympathies. The redhead wondered why Nate believed Claire over Audra. Sally gently asked if Nate was right in questioning Audra’s story. Audra asked Sally not to remind her that she warned her not to get into business with Victor. Sally said she was heartbroken over Audra and Nate splitting. Sally suggested that Audra come clean with Nate. She said that, as Audra was the one who walked out on Nate, all she had to do was go back to him and talk to him.

Audra said she was going to give Nate some space and maybe he’d realize what they mean to each other. Sally said she’d hate to see Audra lose Nate. Audra concurred. Sally suggested that they focus on Abbott Communications and the launch party for the new company. Sally said that she and Billy were doing a retro theme, a 1950s vibe, for the party. She said she has a great vintage dress. Sally said Diane donated something from Jabot for the swag bags.

Audra wondered why the company is being named Abbott Communications if Sally is running it. Sally said Audra was working for her – not the Abbotts. Audra said she’d never pull the rug out from underneath Sally by quitting. She did say she needed to stay on high alert because of Kyle.

Meanwhile, Lily and Devon joined Nate at Society. He shared with them that he and Audra were done. “We broke it off today,” Nate said. Lily gave her sympathies, noting this was the last thing he needed right now. Lily hated that Nate was going through so much all at once – losing Damian and now, Audra. Nate shrugged that he thought that he and Audra were happy.

Lily said she and Damian picked up on Audra’s behavior with Kyle in France, but she didn’t think that Audra would betray Nate in front of his family. Nate said that Kyle saw through Audra’s plan. He added that Audra claimed that she was the one who walked away from Victor. Nate shared that Claire saw Kyle and Audra kissing and that Audra said Kyle pursued her. Lily asked Nate not to believe that.

Nate wondered if Audra’s relationship with Victor was finished, why she'd want to still destroy Claire and Kyle. Nate noted that Audra needed work. Devon wondered if Nate was considering letting Audra off the hook.

Nate said that it’s unforgivable if Audra schemed to break up Kyle and Claire. Devon asked Nate which version he believed. Nate sighed that he’d have to go with Claire’s version. Lily conceded that she liked that Audra was nice to Amy, but she never trusted her. Nate noted that Audra had a soft side. Devon agreed that Audra was nice to Amy.

Nate said deep down he wanted Lily and Devon’s approval so he could ignore his own doubts. Nate added he can look back now and see signs – her relationship with Holden, and Audra’s insistence that he not go to Nice with her.

Devon urged Nate to throw himself into work. Lily says that Nate has positive things he can look forward to. Nate said he loved both Devon and Lily. She said they loved him, too. Devon assured Nate that they weren’t going anywhere. Audra walked into Society to pick up an order to go. She and Nate exchanged a look before she picked up her bag and left.

At Chancellor Park, Phyllis called Cane to talk to him, but sensed he had sent her call to voicemail. She urged him to call her back. Nick spied on Phyllis begging Cane for a meeting. He approached his ex and asked what was wrong. Phyllis downplayed her dilemma. Nick asked what Cane had done now.

Phyllis asked her ex-husband if she looked like someone whose dreams had been dashed. She claimed her fire would not be extinguished. Nick informed Phyllis that he can’t help her if she won’t let him.

Nick said Phyllis should have turned to him before going to Cane. Phyllis said she wasn’t a charity case and mused that Victor and Victoria wouldn’t have liked Nick offering Phyllis a job. Phyllis said Cane had a plan. Nick asked what it was, but Phyllis said it didn’t matter now. Nick wondered if Cane was already waving a white flag, surrendering.

Phyllis said Cane has not cut her out of his dealings. She did note that he had changed his mind about a few things. Nick asked his ex why she was so upset. She countered that she wasn’t going to tell Nick about Cane’s business.

Phyllis revealed that Cane was in an emotional place right now because of Newman Media’s story about Cane being Dumas, and how it affected his kids. She asked Nick if he felt good about Mattie and Charlie being hurt. Nick urged Phyllis to cut her losses with Cane. Phyllis, in turn, asked Nick about his plan to be Cane’s friend. Phyllis wasn’t sure peace was possible.

Phyllis asked Nick to walk away. He begged her to say she wasn’t putting all her eggs in Cane’s basket. Nick wondered what Cane offered her and what she was afraid of losing. Phyllis asked Nick to trust her. She added that Cane wasn’t some Svengali. Phyllis stated that she and Cane were kindred spirits. Nick suggested to Phyllis that if she helped Cane with his corporate schemes, what would happen if Cane changed his mind? Nick begged Phyllis to reconsider. Phyllis told her ex to “back off,” and she had this covered.

Cane met Billy at his home. Cane noted a picture of Johnny and Katie, noting how they’d grown. Cane asked Billy where his loyalties were. Billy let Cane know that Phyllis told him that Cane wanted Billy out. Cane said he’d decided not to go through with his original intentions. Billy was surprised that Cane changed his plan.

Cane said if he wanted to shut Billy out, he would. He announced that Newman, Chancellor, and Jabot were all safe from him. Cane knew he could win, but he didn’t want to fight that hard. He said Billy could believe it or not. Billy wondered what had happened. Cane said he’d alienated his kids, Charlie and Mattie. He said he needed to devote his energy to repairing those relationships. Billy wished Cane luck. He added he was going to miss watching Victor get knocked off his high horse. Cane told Billy that Chancellor was his for the taking.

Cane said he wasn’t going to give up on Lily. Billy asked how it went with Cane telling Phyllis about his decision. Cane said hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Billy wished him luck with Phyllis, noting that hell has nothing on Phyllis.

Cane wished Billy on his next endeavor. As he started to leave, Sally showed up. Cane complimented Sally on the decorating. Then, he left. Sally asked Billy why Cane was there and wondered if Cane figured out that Billy was having him followed. Billy didn’t think so, and he let Sally know that Chancellor Industries was up for grabs.

Sally and Billy strategized over their next move. Sally said that if they find out what Cane’s up to, they’ll have their first big story for Abbott Communications. Billy wondered why Cane might be trying to knock him off balance.

Cane called Lily and asked her if she’d seen his video yet. She said she hadn’t yet. Cane asked her to try to make time. Lily said making inroads with Charlie and Mattie was going to take time.

Later, Lily went to the park and watched and listened to the video Cane made for Charlie and Mattie. Lily was emotionally affected by watching Cane’s heartfelt words to their kids. She wiped a tear from her eye.
