What's next on The Young and the Restless
On Tuesday's episode of The Young and the Restless, watch for the focus to be on Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and his wife, Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman). The two had crossed paths in Genoa City, but they didn't fall into each other's orbits until Lauren became acquainted with Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), Michael's troubled brother.
After Kevin had been arrested, Lauren posted his bail. This led to Michael being very grateful to Lauren. The two embarked on a romance, and their friendship blossomed into love.
The two married on December 9, 2005, in a ceremony surrounded by friends and family. Lauren's pal and former lover, Eric Forrester (John McCook, The Bold and the Beautiful), flew in from Los Angeles for the big day.
Marriage may send some supercouples to the back of the storyline stove, but that didn't happen for Lauren and Michael. Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), Lauren's longtime nemesis, blew up the honeymooning couple's boat. Lauren was presumed dead (Spoiler alert: she wasn't killed!).
Here's to the next 20
The following year, Lauren and Michael welcomed their son, Fenmore (Zach Tinker), into the world. He had a tough start in life as he had come into the world prematurely and needed to spend some time in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit).
Lauren and Michael faced another crisis when Sara Smythe (Sheila's sister) came to town. Bregman took on a dual role when she played Sara. Sheila's sibling had two children, Daisy (Yvonne Zima) and Ryder (Wilson Bethel), who aided and abetted their mom in her plan to hurt Lauren and Michael.
Again, good triumphed over evil. Infidelity crept into Michael and Lauren's world when she drifted into an affair with Carmine Basco (Marco Dapper). Carmine was killed, and a whodunit unfolded. In a shocking twist, Carmine turned out to be alive!
More recently, Lauren urged Michael to extricate himself from Victor Newman's (Eric Braeden) employ because she felt that working for the mogul was too dangerous and it could adversely affect their friends, the Abbotts. Michael and Lauren nearly broke up over Victor, but their love continues to endure.
