On the Monday, July 7th episode of The Young and the Restless, Audra steps up her seduction plan, Phyllis and Lily clash, and the Newmans strategize.
What happened on The Young and the Restless

In Nice, Kyle knocked on the door of Audra’s sleeping car. She called out that the door was unlocked, and he walked in on her wearing an open robe with lacy underwear underneath. Audra offered to pour Kyle a glass of Champagne, but he declined. She held up her own glass and toasted to getting everything she’d ever wanted. Kyle suggested they revisit their perfume war when she was more together, but Audra teased that he didn’t have to run just because she was in a robe.
Audra reminded Kyle that he’d seen her in much less, and she prompted him to tell her what was on his mind. Kyle reiterated that their original concept wouldn’t work because there was no longer any mystery surrounding Dumas’ identity. Audra contended that her great idea just needed to be finessed – unless Kyle was having second thoughts. Kyle recognized that the meat of their competition was their history, and they made “damn good enemies.”
Audra fretted that it could be a problem that she and Kyle had appeared to have set down their swords, citing the witnesses who’d seen him rubbing lotion on her back. Kyle insisted that it was nothing more than a truce while they hammered out their business arrangement, and they’d go back to hating one another once she lost the battle. Audra crowed that the risk was all his. She cooed that he was all in because he respected her instincts, and she believed she might be starting to have some influence over him.
Audra turned the topic to brainstorming the next version of the feud, and Kyle proposed that she get dressed and join him in the dining area over lunch. She purred that he didn’t have to wait outside while she changed. He was speechless when she dropped her robe and took her time reaching for her clothes.
In the dining area, Cane asked if Phyllis was prepared to betray her friends to commit to his project. She swore she could get behind his plan to take over all the elite companies in Genoa City and run them under his corporate umbrella. Phyllis asserted that she was there to prove to her doubters and haters that she was their equal, and she couldn’t wait to see their faces when he ripped away their precious companies with her by his side. Phyllis requested that Victor be kept on so she could become his boss.
Phyllis asked when she would start, but Amanda lectured that it wasn’t Phyllis’ takeover. Cane pointed out that the conversation had started with hypotheticals, and he’d never said he’d actually go after Victor’s companies or anyone else’s. Phyllis was sure Cane had already made concrete moves, and she surmised Chancellor would become the umbrella company. She warned that the families of Genoa City wouldn’t go down without a fight, and she wondered how he planned to pull it off.
Phyllis suspected that Cane’s targets would join forces and go after him. Cane insisted that she didn’t have to worry, but he refused to go into details with her. Amanda firmly stated that they respected that. Cane requested a show of faith to prove he could trust Phyllis. Phyllis told him to name it.
Phyllis declared that if Cane wanted her to throw someone under the bus, he could consider them roadkill. Cane became distracted when he spotted Lily and Damian. Cane said they’d continue the conversation over cocktails, and he crossed over to wish Lily and Damian a good afternoon. Cane commented that it was a beautiful day to be outside. “Well, it was,” Lily sniped. Cane stepped away.
Amanda inquired whether Lily and Damian had become a couple. Lily explained that they were just trying to make the most of the unusual situation – even if they were being held as prisoners. Phyllis joined them and defended that Cane couldn’t be blamed for the storm. Phyllis rambled about the garden being more vibrant than ever, and she pointed out that she’d never had martinis that good in prison. Lily voiced surprise that Phyllis was so upbeat when she was stuck there and not home to help Daniel through his grief.
Lily accused Phyllis of trying to play the situation to her advantage. Phyllis insisted that she wanted to be with her son, but she couldn’t leave or call him. Lily ranted that Phyllis shouldn’t even be there, having bullied her way into getting an invitation. Phyllis proclaimed that she had every right to be there, and she was just enjoying herself instead of bringing down the entire place.
Lily sensed Phyllis was up to something, and Phyllis chided Lily for having an attitude. Phyllis implored Lily to back down instead of parading around, trying to break Cane’s heart. Amanda recommended that everyone just step back and enjoy the day. Lily theorized that it was part of Cane’s master plan to have the guests fight among themselves, trapping them there like rats in a literal maze. Phyllis abruptly said she had to go and stalked off.
Audra and Kyle appeared, and Damian griped that the two were practically glued together. Damian shared his doubts about Audra, but he acknowledged that she’d also shown a compassionate side with his mom. Lily was glad Amy had support, but she believed Audra wasn’t looking out for anyone but herself. Damian opined that Audra was out for something and walking a fine line to get it.
Audra chirped that it looked like Lily and Damian couldn’t get enough of one another, and Lily grumbled that it looked like the same for Audra and Kyle. Audra explained that they were working together on a marketing campaign, and she shuttled Kyle away to get food. Lily and Damian agreed that they didn’t buy the work story. Damian recalled that he’d warned Audra that he’d keep his eye on her and he wouldn’t stand to see his brother hurt.
Lily was touched that Damian was protective of Nate. Damian admitted that he hadn’t expected to form such a strong bond with his brother in a short time. Lily reflected on how she’d doubted every word out of Damian’s mouth when he’d first arrived in Genoa City, and she wondered how she’d ever distrusted such a special man. Cane watched them, unseen.
Kyle walked Audra back to her sleeping car, and he invited her to flesh out more ideas over drinks later. Audra leaned in close and murmured that there was something intoxicating about the French air, so it was no wonder some of the best perfumes were made there. Kyle concurred, and she flirtatiously told him that he was starting to agree with her way too often. He promised to try to keep it in check. “Just try to keep up,” she dared as she entered her room, closing the door between them. Kyle hovered for a moment before stepping away.
Elsewhere on the train, Nikki refused to stay just so Victor could beat Cane at whatever game he was playing. She wailed that Victoria and Claire needed them, and so did their companies. Adam stressed that time was of the essence. Victor contended that he was staying, or he’d miss the opportunity to upend “this B.S. artist” once and for all.
Nikki reasoned that it would be easier for Cane to call the shots if they remained there at his mercy. Nick sided with Nikki, noting that they’d be better off on their home turf to deal with whatever Cane had put into motion. Victor argued that there was no better way to defeat an enemy than on his own turf. “I’m gonna get him,” Victor pledged.
Nick shared that he’d learned from Lily that Cane thought someone was going to try to kill him, and it was the reason Cane had invited Chance there. Victor instructed Adam to go home to be their eyes and ears. Victor thanked Adam for the information he’d given them, and Adam replied that he hadn’t been able to sit around while someone went after their family. Nikki took comfort in getting an update about Cole’s condition. Adam promised to continue to dig into what Cane had planned.
Adam contemplated how he’d get in touch if he learned any other critical information. Nick imagined Cane had used some working communications in the chateau to organize his secret trip. Nick promised that if Cane had a way to reach the outside world, he would find it. Nikki preferred to join Adam, but he warned against the treacherous journey. Victor pleaded with her to stay there because he adored her and wanted her to be safe. He pulled her into his arms.
Phyllis burst in as Victor confirmed that everyone knew what to do. Phyllis was surprised to see Adam, who reported that he had walked up the mountain but was about to leave. Victor sternly told Phyllis that they had been discussing family matters that were none of her business. Phyllis remarked that he’d reminded her why she was happy not to be part of the family. Adam warned her against mentioning his presence to anyone else. Nick pulled Phyllis aside to talk.
Nikki thanked Adam for taking a risk to give them an update. Adam mused that it was what family did, and he left. Victor assured Nikki that they wouldn’t be there much longer since Cane was no match for him.
In the maze, Phyllis noted that Sharon hadn’t been invited to the Newman strategy session, and she wondered what they’d been strategizing about. Nick brushed off the question and asked if Phyllis had locked in a position with Cane yet. Nick again warned her against putting trust in Cane, who was up to something massive in Genoa City – and doing it in person. Phyllis feigned surprise that Cane had left France.
Nick informed Phyllis that Cane had purchased a bunch of real estate back home, using a holding company under an assumed name. Nick believed Cane was a genuine threat to all of them, but Phyllis insisted on taking her chances. Nick worried that she thought she was in control when she wasn’t. He swore he was trying to help, but she snapped that she could do it on her own. Nick grabbed Phyllis’ arm to keep her from leaving, and he appealed to her to stick with the people who cared about her to help them fight Cane off.
