Kyle informed Jack and Diane that his departure for Los Angeles was imminent. Diane questioned how Harrison handled his father's departure so soon after they had just reunited. He didn’t want any time wasted between then and arriving in Los Angeles. The more time that went by, the greater the odds were of Holden sinking his hooks deeper into Claire.

Jack and Diane were somewhat stunned that Victoria caved so easily regarding her daughter's whereabouts in L.A. Kyle tried to sell them on his pitch to Victoria and how important it was to keep Claire away from Holden. Kyle's parents understood his need to make things right with Claire, but Jack couldn't make sense of the immediate urgency to get there. They didn’t think Kyle would get the reaction he wanted, especially if he came in so hot against Holden.

Jack wondered if Claire would find Kyle's arrival too intrusive. Diane echoed that sentiment and cautioned her son, "We don't want you to go all the way out to LA and have this whole thing blow up in your face. What if you and Claire end up in an even worse position than you are now?"

Kyle appreciated their concern, but he informed his parents he'd handle this better moving forward. He admitted he made poor choices in his previous attempts to win her back. He doesn't want to overwhelm her this time. Despite his new cautious approach, he still felt like he needed to protect Claire from Holden. Jack and Diane still warned him against this way of handling the situations, and once again played devil's advocate for Claire.

They reminded Kyle of Claire's unconventional upbringing and how she spent most of her life as a victim of physical and mental captivity. Jack and Diane believed it was highly possible that Claire knew Holden was a bad influence, but that she welcomed the danger. Jack and Diane continued warning against Kyle going to LA, but before they could fully convince him, Harrison stormed into the room and begged his father not to leave. He cried, "The worst thing happened."

Harrison had a bad dream, and it was about Kyle and Claire, but it became a nightmare when the laughter evaporated as they left Claire behind in the dream. Kyle reminded his son that it was merely a dream, and they don't come to life.

In Los Angeles, Claire and Holden got drinks at a club, and they discussed some of the sightseeing they’d already done so far. He was glad she had fun, and she seemed impressed that he was so popular at the club. Holden called himself “kind of a big deal,” and even though he was joking, she felt like he was somewhat serious.

Claire was giddy over how impressive everything was going during her trip with Holden. She wondered what was next on their trip agenda, and although everything he wanted to do sounded fun, she really wanted to see the homes of the Hollywood elite. Holden was surprised that she'd care about that since she lives in a Newman property. She admitted it was still a pinch-me experience because even then, it was still special how welcoming they'd been to her.

Holden admired the way Claire viewed the world through a lens of wonder and awe, but she credited him with that. He previewed that she hadn't seen anything yet. They bonded over their childhoods and shared memories of fantasizing about living better as adults.

Before they could bond any further, Sienna (Tamara Braun's new character) appeared and asked Holden where he had been. He asked her if she was still running the club, and she confirmed she was. Sienna asked Claire if Holden was showing her a good time, and she expressed appreciation for Claire's compliments.

Sienna pointed out that Holden had upgraded his taste in women since their last encounter. She stated, "Anyone is better than that last woman you were hanging around with. Glad to see you got away from her. She was nothing but trouble that one. What was her name, again? Audrey something or other?" Sienna wondered what had happened to Audra, and Claire seemed intrigued by their dynamic.

Holden cited his days with Audra as ancient history. He wanted to forget everything about his past with her, but Sienna reminded him that the past never forgets. Sienna said she was going to show them the best, but it looked like Holden had done this before, and she knew his entire game. Claire wanted to know more about his past with Audra, but he quickly diverted the subject.

Sienna took advantage of Claire stepping away from the table, and he told her not to cause trouble. Holden admitted Audra and Claire crossed paths in the past, but she promised she wasn't there to cause trouble. Holden compared Sienna and Claire, stating that they were both savvy and unpredictable. Sienna responded with a curious, "You outta know."

Sally video conferenced with Jill, who apologized for being unable to meet with her. Jill expressed hope that Sally wouldn't be the next in the long line of people ready to tear down Cane. Sally assured her that Billy was her only concern. Jill recalled that Sally was hopeful Jill would invest in Abbott Communications as a means to repair things with Billy. To Sally's amazement, Jill was highly impressed by Sally's detailed and persuasive pitch, and she was prepared to invest in Abbott Communications.

Jill told Sally not to feign surprise because her proposal had merit. However, Jill's investment came with one condition: Billy was to be kept in the dark. Sally was left with the daunting task of explaining to Billy how she secured funding without revealing the face behind the money. Before they discussed it any further, Billy walked into the jazz lounge where Sally was.

Sally wondered why they wouldn't tell Billy about the investment if she wanted to repair the relationship. She pointed out the impossible task of keeping the investor's name from him. Sally knew Billy would inevitably want their name. However, Jill told Sally, "Listen, if the Co-CEO of Abbott Communications can't figure out and solve a simple problem like this, then your company doesn't have a shot in hell at succeeding anyway." Sally agreed to take it on as a challenge and vowed to come up with a plausible explanation for Billy.

Jill warned Sally against letting her feelings get in the way of Abbott Communications’ future success. She knew Billy better than anyone, and forewarned Sally that if she let him, her son would eventually steer her (and the company) down a dark path. Before they could talk further, Billy approached where Sally was seated, and she quickly shut her device. He questioned who she was talking to and if she was keeping their identity a secret from him.

Sally laughed off Billy's comment and made a joke about a secret admirer. Ultimately, Sally confirmed his suspicions that the person she spoke with expressed a desire to keep their identity a secret from him. When he asked who it was, she stunned Billy and told him it was Jill. Billy felt like Jill wanted to control his life and decimate his love life, but Sally tried to explain that wasn't the case. She was certain and told Billy, "Jill is not playing me."

Billy doesn't see a path for forgiveness for Jill because of how she sided with Victor against him. To throw him off the warpath, Sally dropped a bomb that Jill was willing to invest in their company. Billy couldn't comprehend how Jill considered investing in his company, but Sally confessed she reached out first. Bill demanded she phone Jill and rescind the offer because there was no desire to have her on board.

Sally shut Billy down, and she reminded him of everything she gave up to join his sinking ship. She said she was willing to contact anyone to make this dream a reality. Sally told Billy that Jill would never have accepted his proposal if her business pitch wasn’t solid. She also expressed how this served as another opportunity to prove himself to his mother. He admitted he normally would let his ego and pride stand in the way of what was best for the company.

Billy didn't think being at Jill's mercy was good enough to help the company come to life. He didn't want to give her something to hold over him again. Sally said the one caveat Jill had for the investment was to keep it a secret from him, so there were no ulterior motives. He doesn't know how Jill would make amends if he wasn't supposed to know.

Billy was nervous that Jill would pull the funding because Sally went behind his back. She was willing to risk it to ensure there were no secrets between them. Sally said, "I absolutely cannot build a company or relationship on a lie like that." To make the company work, she needed transparency between them, both personally and professionally. Still, Billy wondered if all of it was a test.

Sally thought it was the ultimate test of their partnership, but he believed the secret would eventually come out. She urged him to allow Jill to invest in the company and reminded him that trust worked both ways. Sally needed Billy to believe in her and said moving forward with Jill was the best option. He wouldn’t do it unless Jill was entirely hands off, and Sally was in agreement.

Billy believed it best to confront Jill to know her true intentions, but Sally was terrified he would blow things up if the conversation went awry. Sally made a final plea to Billy, saying, "Please don't make me regret being honest with you. Please don't make me sorry that I trusted you."
