Friends and family watched as Devon and Abby recited the vows that they had each written for one another. They noted that their story didn’t begin with love at first sight, and they were best friends for a very long time. “When I realized what you meant to me, there was no going back,” Devon said. Everyone cheered when Rev. Holmes announced Devon and Abby as husband and wife.

The cheers were cut short when a loud crash was heard outside. Nick stood up and looked outside. He could see flames in the distance, past the barns, and said he would go look. Victor called emergency services. Nick wasn’t sure if it was on the property or not, but wanted to check it out. Summer stopped him to say that Chance was on his way and she would tell him to meet Nick.

In the living room, Nikki assured everyone there was no need for alarm and introduced the newly-married couple to the room. Everyone took turns congratulating Abby and Devon. Nikki offered to throw Diane out, but Jack didn’t want her to have the attention.

Meanwhile, Victor told Diane she’d made a spectacle of herself. Diane asked why Victor ratted her out to Kyle. “Glissade is yours if you still want it,” Victor said. Diane said she would make it bigger and better than ever, and Jack and Kyle would pay for what they did to her. Victor told Diane he wanted something in return.

“One catch. You’re going to be the one who fires Kyle,” Victor said. He told her to do it tonight, and the contract would be with her in the morning. Diane took a deep breath as Victor walked off.

Audra managed to stun Devon, Lily, and Abby when she congratulated them but dissed weddings. Abby asked if she was against the commitment, thinking that love lasts a lifetime or having to put someone else’s needs first. “Do I have to pick just one?” Audra asked as Nate smiled uncomfortably. Audra added that she thought marriage was an archaic institution and "kind of a crock." Lily said she was the only one who thought that, but Audra wondered how many divorces the guests had between them. Lily told Nate and Audra to go mingle.

Billy told Jill she had promised to explain after the ceremony, and he wanted answers. Jill told Billy she had given him chance after chance. “It’s over, it’s out of my hands!” Jill exclaimed.

Victor overheard and came over. He explained that Jill had done what Katherine intended. “Chancellor, once again, belongs to me,” Victor crowed. “Don’t tell me you gave everything to this maniac,” Billy told Jill. “Billy Boy, you failed your mother one last time,” Victor taunted. Jill told Victor to stop.

Billy said he was not having that conversation in front of Victor, so Jill pulled him into the foyer. Jill said it was time for her to let go. “Then let it go to me,” Billy pleaded. Jill said he wasn’t ready, and she couldn’t just hope he would one day. “Because as much as it pains me to say this, I don’t see it happening, sweetheart,” Jill said.

Jill told Billy that Victor promised to see to it that Katherine’s legacy would be fulfilled, and she trusted him to see to hers as well. “I’m sorry, Billy,” Jill said. Billy pulled Jill in close and kissed her forehead. He held her there as he leaned in to her ear and said, “You do have a choice. And if you go through with this, there’s no coming back.” Jill sobbed as Billy walked out. Victoria chased after him and asked what happened. “You tell your father: This isn’t over,” Bill said as he walked away.

Mariah told Tessa she was concerned that Nick hadn’t come back yet and Sharon wasn’t answering. “What if the fire spread to my mom’s house?” Mariah wondered. She said she could feel it in her gut that something wasn’t right.

Victoria talked to her father about Billy, but he stonewalled her and only wanted to acknowledge the wedding. Victor said they could talk about it the next day. Cole walked up and told Victoria he knew she was upset. “Do I even need to ask?” Cole said.

Lily was looking for Billy and found Jill instead. She was shocked when Jill admitted that she was selling Chancellor to Victor. “It is over,” Jill said. “I thought you had faith in me!” Lily exclaimed. Jill said she had wanted to lead Chancellor to a greater future. “I have no choice. My own body has betrayed me. Even when I’m feeling terrific, the tests say otherwise,” Jill explained. Lily said she would support her in every way.

“If I have to walk away stress-free, I need to make a clean break,” Jill said. She added she didn’t have the luxury of time. Jill said that Billy wasn’t going to understand and needed Lily to get it that she was doing this for herself. She told her that Victor was right and she belonged at Winters with her family. She asked Lily to let it go and let Jill have some peace.

Victoria and Cole approached Kyle and Claire and asked their daughter how she enjoyed her first Newman wedding. Diane interrupted, wanting to speak to Kyle. She said it was important. Kyle said no, but Diane firmly said loudly and firmly that they needed to speak “NOW.”

Kyle uncomfortably explained to Vicotria, Cole, and Claire that his mother relied on others’ good manners to get what she wanted and called her manipulative. Victoria assured him they were used to Diane’s tactics. Claire said to see what Diane wanted so they could get back to their night.

Kyle walked to the foyer with Diane. She told him that she had taken control of Glissade. “As of this moment, you are officially out,” Diane announced as everyone watched from the other room.

Ashley wanted to interrupt Diane and Kyle, but Jack said that Kyle needed to find a way to shut her down by himself. He noted that Diane was relentless and wouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

Outside, Nick and Chance tried to wake up Phyllis, but she was unconscious. Nick wrapped his jacket around his hand while holding a rock and smashed the rear window to unlock the front door. They removed her from the car, and Nick begged her to wake up.

Down the road, Sharon awoke on the steering wheel of her car. She was confused and looked around. She saw Phyllis’ car had crashed and was on fire. She got out of her vehicle and watched from the bushes as Nick knelt over Phyllis and kept yelling at her to hold on, saying that help was coming. Sirens wailed in the distance as Sharon whispered, “Oh my god, what have I done?”

Sharon stumbled into her home, crying and calling for Faith. Alone, she sat on the couch and screamed into a pillow. She envisioned Nick next to her, telling her it had gone too far, and she had to deal with it. Sharon said she passed out, too, and she made it home in one piece, and Phyllis would be okay. “How much more damage will you do to hide your secret?” Nick asked.

Nick told Sharon that everything was too much for her to handle, and that’s why her brain was shutting down and she was having blackouts. Sharon said she needed to think. “This is you thinking,” Nick reminded her. Sharon argued with herself about what to do. Nick told her there was a lot at stake and Phyllis could take it all away. “What if it was me? I wanted to shut Phyllis up for good. What if I did it? What if I killed Phyllis, too?” Sharon asked herself.

Back at the scene of the crash, Nick called Victor and told him what happened. Victor shared it with Nikki but insisted that no one else knew so Abby and Devon wouldn’t correlate their wedding memory to a horrible event. They went back to their guests and thanked everyone for coming. Victor noted the devotion and trust among family members and toasted the bride and groom.

Nick called Summer and asked if she was away from the other guests. She went to the foyer as Nick told her that her mother was in an accident and was on her way to the hospital. He told her to call Daniel and go with him so she wouldn’t be alone. Nick said he would meet her at Memorial. Summer asked if Phyllis would be okay, and Nick said she would, but he broke down out of worry.

Chance told Nick there were two sets of tracks and knew someone else veered into Phyllis’ lane. “So they hit her on purpose?” Nick barked. Chance said that from the marks, it looked like the driver slammed on the brakes and then took off. Nick wondered what kind of sick person would see Phyllis crash and leave her there.

Nick wanted to go to the hospital. Chance asked him to tell Summer he would be there as soon as possible. Nick’s phone rang, and he answered but told Sharon he couldn’t talk. “There’s been an accident,” he explained. Sharon sounded hysterical. “Is Phyllis okay?” she sobbed. “Sharon, how did you know Phyllis was involved?” Nick asked gravely as he looked around to see if anyone could hear.

Sharon told Nick to tell the doctors that Phyllis had to wake up. Nick asked again if Sharon was involved in Phyllis’ accident. “Nick, I’m so scared,” Sharon cried. “What are you saying?” Nick asked. “I need to see you. Please. Come as soon as you can,” Sharon said.

Jordan Howard let herself into a motel room. “It’s done,” she said with a smile, “Exactly according to plan.” Ian Ward turned around and smiled back at her. “How wonderful,” he said.
