Here are your The Young and the Restless spoilers and teasers for Friday, May 9, 2025, when Nikki gives Claire a reality check, and Chelsea finds herself in a tough spot.
What happens next on The Young and the Restless

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) has been Claire's (Hayley Erin) staunchest supporter in terms of going up against Victor (Eric Braeden), who opposes her relationship with Kyle (Michael Mealor). Who better than Nikki knows how to handle Victor? However, this doesn't mean that Claire's going to have an easy path with her grandfather. He's been meddling in the love lives of his children for years. Why stop with his grandchildren?
On Friday, watch for Nikki to give Claire a reality check. Hopefully, Nikki's wake-up call to Claire is going to help her secure her future with Kyle. That does seem to be Claire's big goal these days. Nikki may tell her granddaughter that she's going to need more than a spunky attitude to get Victor to change his mind. Nikki may point out to Claire that Victor actually will never change his mind. She's the one who's going to have to alter her way of thinking if she wants to make this dynamic with Kyle work.
Victor is a keen strategist

Victor takes a multi-level approach to completing his tasks. He's lined up Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) to get between Kyle and Claire, hoping Claire will leave Kyle in the dust. On Thursday, watch for Victor to up his game by hitting Kyle where it hurts.
Just where does it hurt? Well, Kyle has many vulnerable spots. He loves his work. Of course, Kyle cares about his family, too. We'd venture to say it's safe to assume that Kyle cares about his family more than anything. He loves his parents, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters), Claire, and, of course, Harrison (Redding Munsell), his son. How exactly is Victor going to hit Kyle?
Chelsea faces a work challenge

The good news is that Adam (Mark Grossman) didn't hide from Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) the fact that Victor wants him to go after Billy (Jason Thompson). So what's Chelsea going to do? She loves Adam and wants to be his partner in life and at work. But truly supporting him may include ensuring he stays honest and doesn't engage in Victor's bidding.
Chelsea could probably do more long-term good for Adam by making sure she remains inside his company. But will Victor stand for that if he senses that Chelsea is going to act too strongly as Adam's conscience?
