Next week on The Young and the Restless, Michael Damian is back as Danny Romalotti. Sitting in the park, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) catches Danny up on what he’s missed since the last time he was in town, especially with his musica and spending time with Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) learning how to play the guitar.

The problem is that a few days ago, Daniel was able to be there for his friend, as well. But amidst Tessa’s separation from Mariah (Camryn Grimes), she has become closer to Daniel. Although they’ve just been friends, Tessa put her hand affectionately on his arm, and Daniel realized it had been a while since he’d been close with someone. Danny smiles as he listens to his son describe his feelings. “It sounds like she's starting to mean more to you,” Danny says. Daniel seems to surprise himself by admitting, “I’m afraid I’m starting to develop real feelings for Tessa.”

Jack (Peter Bergman) was startled when Billy (Jason Thompson) shared that he had met with Cane (Billy Flynn) and he wants to go after Jabot. He was even more taken aback when Billy told his brother that had his conversation with Jill (Jess Walton) gone sideways, he might not have told him anything. Regardless, he assured Jack that he would never turn on him.

Jack tells Diane (Susan Walters) what is going on, but he’s not so confident in his little brother. While they have a plan, Jack tells his wife there’s one big problem: “It requires that we put all of our faith — and perhaps the future of the family company — in Billy’s hands,” Jack says apprehensively.

Earlier this week, Victor (Eric Braeden) suggested to Lily (Christel Khalil) that she didn’t avoid Cane as she had planned, and instead, she got closer to him to find out what his strategy was in Genoa City. Lily didn’t see another option, noting if not her, then who? But Cane wants Lily back. How far is she willing to go to get him to let his guard down with her and get the information?
