When 2025 ended, The Young and the Restless' Phyllis appeared to be left out in the cold. Cane reconnected with Lily. Jack turned down Phyllis's offer to help save Jabot Cosmetics. So, what will the new year bring for her, now that she doesn't seem to have any allies?

When we last saw Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) on The Young and the Restless, she called Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and left him a voicemail. What does she want to meet with him about? Does it have to do with Jabot? She knows that Michael works for Victor (Eric Braeden). Does she think he will be able to hack into Victor's computer and secure Jabot for her?

Considering that she's been angry at Michael for months, because he defended Sharon (Sharon Case) during Heather's (Vail Bloom) murder investigation, it's strange that she reached out to him. It feels like she called him out of desperation. What is going on in that cunning mind of hers?

She doesn't handle rejection well

We all know that The Young and the Restless' Phyllis doesn't like to be ignored or rejected. She doesn't handle it well. Jack's (Peter Bergman) cold and untrusting attitude toward her triggered something inside her. We could see the wounded look on her face after he told her he didn't want to take a chance on her to help the Abbotts save Jabot.

His words stung her to the core, even though she probably realized that he had every right to distrust her. When she left his house, she must have felt like everyone was shoving her out of their life, as though she were an annoying fly that they were all trying to shoo away.

That was when she called Michael. She must have something up her sleeve, but what is it? She must know that whatever she wants him to do for her, it's going to be a huge risk if it involves double-crossing Victor.

Her involvement with Cane is probably over

Now that Cane (Billy Flynn) looks like he's reuniting with Lily (Christel Khalil), does that mean his business relationship with Phyllis is over? It would have been interesting if she had walked in on the kiss between Cane and Lily. That would have been like a splash of ice-cold water in her face! Is Phyllis starting to develop authentic feelings for him? We still don't know. That's why it would have been fun if she had seen with her own eyes that Lily is now responding to Cane's advances. It would have forced Phyllis to confront her own feelings for him.

If Phyllis has genuine feelings for Cane, then will she lash out at him in retaliation once she finds out about the kiss? Will we see the famous expression "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" take shape in Phyllis? Even though Cane may have viewed their fling as just that -- a fling, perhaps she viewed it as something more serious. Will she feel like a discarded toy once she learns that Cane and Lily are reuniting? After all, Phyllis is like a tornado when she doesn't get her way!

The Young and the Restless writers have done a good job kicking off the new year with a Phyllis mystery. Why did she call Michael? If she's thinking of using him to double-cross the Mustache on her behalf, then she needs to reconsider her plan. Victor will never let her get away with it!
