On The Young and the Restless, Sharon (Sharon Case) has had a wild few months — not that she remembers most of it. From blackouts to lashouts, even Daniel (Michael Graziadei) would say that Sharon has been acting out of character. Rather generous, considering she confessed to murdering the love of his life and then framing him for it.
But thanks to Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) intuition and Chance (Conner Floyd) finally willing to…well, take a chance, it was discovered that someone tampered with Sharon’s meds, and her destiny with a prison sentence suddenly didn’t seem to be written in stone.

In a recent interview, Sharon Case told Soap Opera Digest what fans could expect to see next on the roller coaster ride of a storyline that her character, Sharon Newman, has been on.
Case explained that Sharon asked to be hypnotized because she wanted answers. However, her ex, Nick, and her lawyer and friend, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), advised against the process. They were worried that whatever the hypnotizing revealed could be used against Sharon in court.
Sharon has already confessed to the crimes she believes she committed. She has resigned herself to the fact that she killed Heather (Vail Bloom), disposed of her body, and framed Daniel for the murder. While the latter may be true, there was an amount of time that Sharon had one of her blackouts — between the time she remembers arguing with Heather and when she woke up on the couch and Heather’s lifeless body was on the floor.
Sharon wants to know what happened during that time. It could result in confirming that she, indeed, killed Heather. Or, it could lead her somewhere else. As the tampering of her meds was the work of resident evil-doers with an agenda, Ian Ward (Ray Wise) and Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk), it has yet to be confirmed that they killed Heather.
Unknown enemies attack on The Young and the Restless
Case shared that she found out that Jordan and Ian were returning to the show and that they were part of the story by reading her script. However, as much as the viewers have learned since the reveal that Ian and Jordan were in Genoa City, Case said even more twists are yet to come.
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) lucked out that Christine (Lauralee Bell) had to catch a plane when she accidentally let it slip that she saw a truck's headlights and not Sharon's SUV in her memory flashes that were starting to come back. But when she admitted to Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) that the vehicle she saw was a dark truck, Sharon overheard.
Until that conversation, Sharon had believed she may have tried to kill Phyllis by running her off the road. Another challenge Sharon has to overcome is figuring out how to get Phyllis to be helpful when there is so much animosity between them.
“Phyllis is a problem, who’s poisoning her meds is another one, her family is in danger … It just adds to the pile of things that are going on, that not only is there this tampering with her drugs business happening, and her blackouts, but now Phyllis is coming around again, trying to entrap Sharon,” Case explained.
Under hypnosis, Sharon remembers seeing a dark truck as well, heading in the direction of where Phyllis would have been driving. With two eyewitnesses, will it be enough to have Sharon's charges dropped for trying to kill Phyllis?
Will Sharon go to jail?
Case added that without Phyllis changing her police statement or admitting she remembers a different vehicle coming at her, Sharon couldn’t be off the hook for the accident. She was at the scene of the crime and had another blackout, so she can’t account for her own actions. But given her long history of animosity with Phyllis, and most recently, what Sharon did to Phyllis’ family, chances are slim Phyllis will want to do anything to keep Sharon out of jail. “It’s a perfect conflict for those two to have within this storyline, though,” Case added.
I think that the Sharon/Nick love story being played into is great. So the story has everything to offer — a whodunit storyline, a car crash, you’ve got love involved, two people who are reconnecting on their love and their history. - Sharon Case about her current storyline in an SOD interview
“There is a key thing that comes out. She does realize that something else happened when she was in Daniel’s apartment; she recalls some new information about what happened in Daniel’s apartment the night that Heather died,” Case teased.
Case added, “What she discovers under hypnosis gives her a lot more verve and reason and drive to keep pushing forward to solve this whole mystery. She’s gotten a few more clues, and she feels there is more to discover based on what she finds out under hypnosis.”
