Is Indiana Jones really Victor Newman's son?

By nature, casting calls are typically vague. Now that Indiana Jones actor Sean Patrick Flanery has joined Y&R in the role of Sam, fans have begun to speculate who this newcomer will turn out to be.

In an inspired coup for The Young and the Restless, former Young Indiana Jones actor, Sean Patrick Flanery, will be joining the cast next month as a rumored romantic interest for damsel-in-distress Sharon Newman.

Flanery will be playing Sam Gibson, a rural veterinarian described as kind, decent, and full of common sense. Though not necessarily revealing, the casting breakdown did draw the attention of TVGuide Canada columnist Nelson Branco, who noted in his Suds Report column that the traits sounded "a lot like (Adam's mother) Hope," and speculated that the character "could be the real Adam Newman."

Flanery is famous for playing teen Indy in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and its multiple sequels from 1992 to 2008. He also starred in the hit cult movie, Powder, as well as the television series based on Stephen King's Dead Zone.

Flanery will first air in mid-April.
