Y&R actor who was hit with car and beaten on Thanksgiving sues his alleged attackers

Model/actor Corey Sligh, who alleges two men accosted him on Thanksgiving night, has taken the assailants to court.

It's been a grueling recovery process for The Young and the Restless' Corey Sligh, who was hit by a car and then attacked by two men on Thanksgiving. But now the actor, who has appeared on a recurring basis as a waiter/bartender at the Genoa City Athletic Club, is fighting back: he is suing his alleged attackers.

Sligh took the two men to court on Wednesday seeking unspecified damages for assault, battery, and negligence. As fans of the actor may recall, the 27-year-old and his girlfriend, Alisa Berhorst, were headed to a Los Angeles Rite Aid store on November 27 to take a friend a Thanksgiving meal when they saw two men in a car doing "donuts" and speeding. Sligh asked the men to slow down and, according to Berhorst in an interview with CBS affiliate KCAL, told them to "please slow down or we're gonna call the cops. Just go home."

According to witness accounts, the driver then hit Sligh with his car, and the two men got out of the vehicle to attack Sligh.

Berhorst said that one of the men "walked up on [Corey] like 'I'm in the mood to kill somebody and this is who it's going to be because he told me to be careful and slow down and go away.'"

Sligh suffered multiple injuries including a broken arm, which reportedly remains "weak and disfigured." According to the lawsuit, he's been unable to accept acting roles offered to him due to the injury.

Representation for the defendants has yet to comment.
