Chrishell Stause set to hit Y&R as  wild child  character

All My Children and Days of our Lives alum Chrishell Stause will soon be hitting The Young and the Restless' Genoa City, and the role sounds anything but boring!

Get ready, The Young and the Restless fans, because Chrishell Stause (ex-Jordan Ridgeway, Days of our Lives; ex-Amanda Dillon, All My Children) is on her way to Genoa City, and it looks like she'll be stirring up loads of trouble.

The real-life girlfriend of Justin Hartley (Adam Newman) has landed the recurring role of Bethany Bryant, "a young woman who relishes the chance to push things to the limit and live dangerously as long as she's not the one who gets burned," reports TV Line.

The so-called "wild child" character will find herself smack in the middle of one Genoa City family's drama when she first appears on Wednesday, May 25.

When Y&R issued its casting call for the role, it was described as an "attractive and sexy" woman who "lives for the moment, always in search of a good time -- a free spirit. Sticks to the one-night stands and casual relationships. Fiercely independent. Likes to play with people's minds playfully... and yet, live dangerously."

In addition to her work on AMC and DAYS, Stause has appeared on shows like Mistresses and Body and Proof.

Hartley took to Twitter to comment on the news. "This is great news! Proud of this lady and proud of the show for this fine hire," he exclaimed.

"WOW... do you guys know how to make a girl feel special!! I grew up watching Y&R [with] my mom & I can't tell you what this warm welcome means," Stause shared on Twitter after word of her hiring began to circulate.

Stause's hiring comes with a bit of bad news. Due to her new Y&R role, Chrishell will not be part of this year's Soap Central Daytime Emmys red carpet coverage -- but that doesn't mean she won't be stopping by our spot on the red carpet to dish about her new gig and engage in some silliness. And maybe -- just maybe -- we can even convince her to do an interview or two for us.

What do you think about Stause being cast on Y&R? What are you hoping to see from Bethany once she hits Genoa City? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
