Y&R celebrates 11,000th episode with emotional flashback tribute videos

Prepare yourself for a really good cry, because The Young and the Restless is celebrating its 11,000th episode with several moving tribute videos featuring flashbacks from its early days.

Get ready to take a satisfying stroll down memory lane, because The Young and the Restless is celebrating its upcoming 11,000th episode in a very special way.

The CBS soap will hit the extraordinary mark on Thursday, September 1, but the celebration officially kicks off on Monday, August 22, when the soap will air an emotional tribute video jam-packed with vintage clips that are weaved throughout as Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) and Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) reminisce about their early days on the soap. And you might want to grab some tissue, because we hear Braeden serves up a deeply emotional salute to the late Jeanne Cooper (ex-Katherine Chancellor).

If you feel like you just can't wait until Monday, August 22, to see the special video, you're in luck. You can check it out below.

But don't think that's all Y&R is gifting to fans. The Scott/Braeden video is actually only the beginning. Daytime's number one show will be celebrating its 11,000th episode for a full two weeks, with a special video package kicking off each episode through Friday, September 2.

Other Genoa City favorites scheduled to share their Y&R memories over the course of the next two weeks are Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair), Sharon Case (Sharon Newman), Doug Davidson, (Paul Williams), Jess Walton (Jill Abbott), Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott), Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters), and Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin).
