Mary J. Blige brought The Young and the Restless to the pop music world in 2001 when she used the CBS soap's famous tune Nadia's Theme in her hit song No More Drama. And now Y&R is once again making music headlines, this time due to rapper Eminem.
The singer, also known as the Real Slim Shady, mentions 25 different known names in his latest freestyle release called Campaign Speech -- two of whom are soap stars.
One hot name thrown into the hip-hop mix is none other than Y&R's Catherine Bach, who plays Chelsea's mom, Anita Lawson, but is best known for her role as Daisy Duke on The Dukes of Hazzard.
Says Eminem in the freestyle rap: "Expired tags on the Saturn, got Catherine Bach in the back in Daisy Dukes with the hazards on, at a traffic stop gettin' harassed, sign an autograph for this a**ole cop's daughter, laugh cause I called her a brat on it, he spat on it and brought it back lookin' half in shock..."
The multiple-Grammy winner also mentioned David Hasselhoff, who played Genoa City's Dr. William "Snapper" Foster from 1975 to 1982 before making it big on Baywatch.
"Crack front axle, walked in a Bass Pro Shop with David Hasselhoff, pulled Tabasco sauce out of my satchel, knocked over a fisherman's tackle box and crash sound," the freestyle lyrics say.
Other names mentioned in the nearly eight-minute rap include Agatha Christie, Ben Stiller, Christopher Reeves, Donald Trump, Edward Norton, Robin Thicke, and Stacey Dash.
