Eileen Davidson to make novel Dial Emmy for Murder into a movie

The Young and the Restless' Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) is bringing her mystery novel Dial Emmy for Murder to the big screen.

Emmy-winning soap star Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott, The Young and the Restless; ex-Kristen DiMera, Days of our Lives) knows how to dish out drama, and her latest project will be no exception.

The actress, who currently stars on Bravo's reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, shares that she is in the process of turning one of her Soap Opera Mystery novels, 2009's Dial Emmy for Murder, into a film.

"I wrote these books 10 years ago, one every year for a few years, and one of them has been optioned," Davidson shares with Bravo. "I'm in the middle of writing a second draft for it, and hopefully we're gonna be filming it this summer. So I'll be starring in that, co-writing it, exec producing, and that should be fun."

For anyone who hasn't read one of Davidson's novels, they're chock full of drama fit for any of your favorite daytime shows.

"They're written around the soap opera industry, and the protagonist is basically my character. She loves mysteries, and so she gets involved in trying to solve these murders," Davidson teases. "So you find her always in trouble when she's always trying to figure things out, and all these people keep dying in these very dramatic ways, so it's gonna be fun."
