Y&R's Hartley Sawyer joins The Flash

The Young and the Restless alum Hartley Sawyer (ex-Kyle Abbott) zooms straight into a role on the CW's The Flash.

The CW series The Flash is about to get an infusion of superpowered soap opera energy because The Young and the Restless alum Hartley Sawyer (ex-Kyle Abbott) has been cast as the Elongated Man.

Deadline reports the actor has taken on the character, a fast-talking private eye also known as Ralph Dibny, for season four of the DC Comic series.

"Upon discovering he has the power to stretch his body to any shape or form, Dibny uses his new abilities to help Team Flash solve one of Central City's greatest mysteries," the outlet teases of Sawyer's role.

After leaving Y&R in 2014, Sawyer went on to star in Caper, Laura, Miss 2059, and Saving the Human Race: Webisodes.

Watch for the season premiere of The Flash on Wednesday, October 11.
