After a brief hiatus to take on pilot season, Abhi Sinha shares he's back at The Young and the Restless and couldn't be more proud of the way the soap has written his character Ravi.

Starting with the joke "rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated," Abhi Sinha has announced that he has returned as The Young and the Restless' Ravi Shapur.

The Indian-American actor took a brief hiatus from the CBS Daytime drama series to take part in pilot season auditions, and while it doesn't appear that he landed any primetime shows, he seems happy that things panned out the way they have.

"I'm so glad to be back doing what I love and prouder to be part of a show that has been around for forty-five years and broken barriers with Ravi and an Indian-American character," he writes. "Not only has there been a tremendous evolution of the character, but to pair him with an older, white, established star [Eileen Davidson, Ashley Abbott] was revolutionary and progressive. This past pilot season made me realize that many others in Tinsel Town are lagging behind and [are] still stereotyping the Indian-American male character. Kudos to Y&R! Glad to be back!"

Sinha joined Y&R in January 2017 and quickly became a fan favorite character. His previous credits include Scorpion, Designated Survivor, NCIS: Los Angeles, Chasing Life, Rizzoli & Isles, and Blackhat.
