Meet Mitch Eakins, who makes his debut as The Young and the Restless' hunky new musician, Brandon Rose, this week.

Remember when The Young and the Restless put out a casting call for an edgy rock-'n'-roll singer who has a killer smile and a "handsome face you will never forget"? It looks like the CBS soap opera found its match in actor Mitch Eakins, who will be making his debut as Brandon Rose on Wednesday, April 3.

The actor took to social media with confirmation of the casting news, writing: "This is exciting. Hope the fans are ready for some mischief."

Eakins is currently scheduled to appear in a handful of episodes over the coming weeks, but his future on the CBS soap opera remains unclear. While it was first assumed that Brandon would be a part of Devon's growing music empire, rumor has it the musician is actually going to be a part of Victoria's (Amelia Heinle) storyline.

While this week marks Eakins' debut on Y&R, it actually isn't his first daytime rodeo. The actor previously played a physical therapist named Pete Clarke on Days of our Lives from 2013 to 2014. His additional credits include The Affair, Turn: Washington Spies, SEAL Team, Wave Goodbye, and Halt and Catch Fire.

What do you think about Y&R bringing on Mitch Eakins in the role of edgy musician Brandon Rose? How do you feel about the rumor that the musician will be involved in storyline with Victoria?
