Summer is the time when soap operas traditionally give their younger cast members their (literal) time in the sun, and it looks like this year, The Young and the Restless won't be an exception. The CBS soap opera has cast Tyler Johnson in the new role of Theo Vanderway.
A rep for the show confirms that Theo will make his debut in Genoa City on Monday, June 3, as a friend of Kyle Abbott's (Michael Mealor), whom he met during his New York days. No other details about Theo have been released, but word on the street is he'll be integral to some pretty juicy summer storylines headed fans' way.
As for the man behind Genoa City's newest face, Johnson may already be known to some viewers because he has appeared in several major projects like Gossip Girl, 30 Rock, White Collar, Matchmaker's Playbook, and The Haunting of Sharon Tate. The actor was also once named Seventeen magazine's "Hottest Guy in America" and has modeled for companies like Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and Abercrombie and Fitch.
