There's no denying the fact that The Young and the Restless actress Cait Fairbanks (Tessa Porter) is an unbelievably talented musician. The accomplished singer/songwriter has even garnered an Emmy nomination for the 2018 Y&R tune "How Could a Lie Feel so True," which she co-wrote with the soap's music supervisor, RC Cates. But the latest tune from Fairbanks (who also goes by Ginesse) arguably shoots her into a completely different hemisphere. Titled "Something in You," the haunting ballad is a beautiful story about letting down one's walls to accept the potential of a budding relationship with someone special.
RC Cates took to Twitter with an announcement about the song, which became available today on music services like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Deezer.
"Get you some #YR," he wrote along with a link to ingroov, which takes fans to the song via their preferred music service.
Back in April, Fairbanks told Soap Central that although acting is her priority when she's at Y&R, she has been (pardon the pun) quite instrumental in getting her music on the show.
"When I first auditioned, I had to play the guitar and the piano during the screen test, and I played a song that I wrote, so they knew early on that I was also a songwriter. And I have always been pretty pushy, like, 'I can write! I have songs! I have stuff!'" she shared with a laugh. "I always kind of stick my nose in anytime I think I could write a song on the show, and if it involves the storyline, then it's even more exciting... I am always going to try to sneak my writing into the show. I love being able to put any creative stamp on it. It's just really fun for me."
Rumor has it "Something in You" is one of the songs that Fairbanks has "snuck" onto Y&R, so keep tuning in to the CBS soap opera to catch its debut and to find out how the tune might be incorporated into storyline.
