AMC stars dish Canary, Scott and JR's wedding?!

Two All My Children stars recently appeared on Soap Central Live, the Internet's leading all-things-soap online radio program. Jacob Young and Adam Mayfield talked about working together -- both on-screen and in real life. Plus, the two dropped a bombshell about where JR and Scott's anger might eventually lead!

Every week, the stars of daytime turn out on Soap Central Live, a weekly hour-long discussion of "all things soaps," hosted by Soap Central founder Dan J Kroll. In their recent appearance on the show, All My Children stars Jacob Young (JR Chandler) and Adam Mayfield (Scott Chandler) talked about their on-screen animosity, working with the soon-to-be-retiring David Canary (Adam Chandler), and ... their on-screen wedding?!

Young was schedule as the sole guest on the February 5th show, but a last-minute scheduling change made the Emmy-winning star's appearance uncertain. Mayfield, who was off of work that day, offered to call in until Young became available. The two stars made for interesting listening, particularly as they offered their thoughts on why JR and Scott butt heads.

"I mean [JR and Scott] definitely have a lot in common," Young explained. "They're both adamant about wanting to be, pretty much the best person they can be and especially where Chandler Enterprises is concerned. That's the one thing that's gonna be that binding thread between Scott and JR."

"Soap fans know that when male and female characters hate each other, they're eventually going to get married," Kroll interjected. "But it's unusual to see two male characters have to work together when they hate each other. Normally, they'll just duke it out somewhere and go about their own separate ways."

"Well the marriage date hasn't been announced yet, so..." Young quipped.

"Hey, but you never know. Anything can happen in this medium," Mayfield added. "Because after all, if you think about it, technically we're not really related. So they can always play that card."

On a more serious note, Young offered thoughts on working with his on-screen dad, David Canary (Adam Chandler). Though the news has not yet officially been announced at the time, it was well-known to the cast the Canary would be retiring later in the year.

"It's kind of hard not to have a dynamic with David because he's just such a force. You know, as far as an actor, he's not just an adamant professional every single day, but also such a talent," Young praised. "And you know, it's easy to act when you're working with such perfection as David."

Soap Central Live airs every Friday at 6pm Eastern/3pm Pacific. If you miss any part of the show, each show is archived here on soapcentral.com for your listening enjoyment.
