Former All My Children stars Chrishell Hartley (ex-Amanda Dillon; Jordan Ridgeway, Days of our Lives) and Melissa Claire Egan (ex-Annie Lavery; ex-Chelsea Newman, The Young and the Restless) praise Tom Cruise with a pay-it-forward spirit. Soap Central is challenging you to do the same for your favorite soap opera star.
The recent death of soap opera alum Luke Perry (ex-Kenny, Another World; ex-Ned Bates, Loving) has been a tough loss for people both in and out of the entertainment industry. But one positive thing that has come from losing the actor too soon is the desire for people to start sharing uplifting stories about entertainers who are still living.
One such example is a post made by Jos Benjamin Molina, a professional baseball coach for the Los Angeles Angels, which caught the attention of Days of our Lives actress Chrishell Hartley (Jordan Ridgeway).
Molina wrote, "The warm tributes to Luke Perry this week reminded me of how rarely in Hollywood you hear people saying nice things about famous folk until after we've lost them. Let's share some positivity."
Hartley quickly jumped on board and shared a photo of herself posing with Tom Cruise, whom she met when she starred on All My Children as Amanda Dillon. The photo also features Melissa Claire Egan (ex-Annie Lavery; ex-Chelsea Newman, The Young and the Restless) and Denise Vasi (ex-Randi Hubbard).
"I was on a soap All My Children and we filmed across from The View. Tom Cruise stayed for literal HOURS after filming to sign and take pics with every single person in the audience," Hartley shares. "Word spread and we caught him on his way to his car. Genuine and so nice."
Egan caught wind of Molina's tweet and also commented on Hartley's response to his post, sharing: "We stalked, and we succeeded. True story, he was SO nice."
Back in February, The Bold and the Beautiful also captured the spirit of celebrating talented people with posts of positivity. The CBS soap opera hosted a contest called Spread the Love that encouraged both fans and stars of the show to share sweet and appreciative sentiments about B&B cast members. Darin Brooks (Wyatt Spencer) got the ball rolling with a heartwarming video message made for his costar John McCook (Eric Forrester), and several other videos followed suit.
With Hartley's fun post and the recent B&B posts of positivity in mind, Soap Central is challenging you to share something sweet about a soap opera star you love. Just pick your favorite and give them some sugar, spice, and everything nice in the comments section below.
