Iconic daytime star Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane, All My Children) co-hosted an episode of The Dr. Oz Show, where she reunited with Walt Willey (ex-Jack Montgomery) and discussed her recent heart health issues.
All My Children star Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane) returned to daytime television last week in the role of celebrity co-host on The Dr. Oz Show. After experiencing a serious heart health scare last year that made her feel "lucky to be alive," the actress is advocating for heart disease awareness, which made the daytime talk show a perfect fit.
Lucci's episode includes several soap opera slaps (of course!) and information about the charity auction she is hosting later this month via Everything But the House. The actress also undergoes a live heart scan so fans can see how her very important organ is currently functioning.
"Proof that Erica Kane has a heart!" jokes the show's regular host, Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Additionally, the episode features a clip in which Lucci's longtime AMC costar Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery) shares a personal message with the star, and her longtime AMC lover Walt Willey (ex-Jack Montgomery) surprises her to discuss the rumors of an All My Children reboot.
Says Lucci on the reboot gossip, "I hope that's true. I certainly hear those rumblings, too, on my Instagram account. Our fabulous passionate fans are still with us, Walt. They want to see All My Children rebooted."
Soap Central first reported news of Lucci's Dr. Oz episode at the end of January, when Willey teased that he would be surprising his Pine Valley cohort. To view Lucci's full episode, visit The Dr. Oz Show's official website.
Willey played AMC's legal eagle Jack from 1987 until the soap's ABC cancellation in 2011, and Lucci played cosmetics queen Erica from 1970 to 2011.
