Fantasy Island reboot recruits AMC's Debbi Morgan, DAYS' Eric Winter

Fantasy Island has cast soap alums Debbi Morgan (ex-Angie Hubbard, All My Children; ex-Harmony Hamilton, The Young and the Restless) and Eric Winter (ex-Rex Brady, Days of our Lives) alongside series star Kiara Barnes (ex-Zoe Buckingham, The Bold and the Beautiful).

Fox's upcoming reboot of Fantasy Island will be can't-miss television for soap opera fans. Not only will the drama series star Kiara Barnes, who left her role as Zoe Buckingham on The Bold and the Beautiful to take the headlining role of Ruby Okoro, but it also will feature more soap opera talent: Debbi Morgan (ex-Angie Hubbard, All My Children; ex-Harmony Hamilton, The Young and the Restless) and Eric Winter (ex-Rex Brady, Days of our Lives), who have signed on as hotel guests in the semi-anthological drama.

Much like the original 1978-1984 version of the series that starred Ricardo Montalban as Mr. Roarke, the modern reboot of Fantasy Island will feature characters who work at an island hotel, greeting new guests in each episode. Roselyn Snchez has taken the leading role of Elena Roarke, grand-niece of Mr. Roarke and now the owner of Fantasy Island; John Gabriel Rodriguez will play Javier, the hotel's charismatic head of transport; and Barnes will play Ruby, a warm and wise woman who arrives on Fantasy Island with a terminal illness but ends up gaining a new lease on life.

According to TV Insider, AMC's Morgan will show up in episode four of the series as Eileen, "a delightful free spirit with elegance, charm, and the confidence of someone who has always been the most beautiful and entertaining person in the room." Unfortunately, Eileen has a tense relationship with her daughter, which she hopes to work on during their vacation in paradise.

Meanwhile, DAYS' Winter -- who is the real-life husband of Fantasy Island star Roselyn Snchez -- will be appearing in episode six as Brian, "an athletic and competitive survivalist who dares the island to put him through the ultimate mental and physical challenge."

Debbi Morgan took on the role of AMC's Angie Hubbard in 1982 and played the beloved character for three decades, winning a Daytime Emmy award in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category in 1989. Her impressive rsum includes TV credits like Boston Public, Charmed, For the People, The Defenders, and Power, as well as the films Eve's Bayou, Coach Carter, and The Hurricane. News of Morgan's guest-starring role on Fantasy Island follows the news that she has landed the heavily recurring role of Patricia Williams (a.k.a. Aunt Piggy) on Fox's Our Kind of People.

Eric Winter starred on DAYS from 2002 to 2005. Some of his post-daytime credits include Brothers & Sisters, The Mentalist, Witches of East End, GCB, Rosewood, and The Rookie.
