Julia Barr confirmed for AMC reboot

Daytime favorite Julia Barr will reprise her role as Brooke English when All My Children resumes production on February 25. The two-time Emmy winner first appeared as Brooke in 1976.

Prospect Park has confirmed an earlier Soap Central report that two-time Daytime Emmy winner Julia Barr (Brooke English) will be a part of All My Children's Internet relaunch.

"Julia Barr will return to the beloved serial drama All My Children, set to debut later this spring," Prospect Park said in a statement. "Barr will reprise her role as Brooke English, the character for which she has garnered Two Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Supporting Actress along with eight nominations."

Barr joined the cast of All My Children in 1976. She exited the show in 1980, but returned two years later. She remained with the show for the next 24 years, before being written out of the show. She returned in 2010 to help usher David Canary (Adam and Stuart Chandler) off the canvas, and also rejoined the soap for its ABC series finale in 2011.

Earlier this month, sources told Soap Central that Canary will also be featured in AMC's reboot.

Barr is a two-time Emmy winner, picking up Supporting Actress wins in 1990 and 1998.

Barr joins a handful of other stars already confirmed for AMC's reboot. The series is also casting and recasting several other roles in advance of its return to production, which begins on February 25.
