The streaming platform HBO Max will soon be premiering a reboot of the CW series Gossip Girl, and All My Children alum Emily Alyn Lind (ex-Emma Lavery) has been cast in one of the leading roles.
The actress is set to play the character of Audrey, who "has been in a long term relationship and is beginning to wonder what more could be out there." She confirmed news of her casting on Instagram, writing, "Seen u soon upper east side, xoxo."
The series' showrunner and executive producer, Joshua Safran, also wrote about Lind coming on board, tweeting, "So excited to welcome the preternaturally talented Emily Alyn Lind to GG. Expect more casting news imminently."

The original Gossip Girl starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley (ex-Philip Chancellor, The Young and the Restless), Chace Crawford, and Ed Westwick as upper-class adolescents living in Manhattan's Upper East Side. Kristen Bell served as the series' omniscient blogger "Gossip Girl" for its 2007-2012 run, and she will be returning to the reboot.
Actors Eli Brown, Whitney Peak, Thomas Doherty, Adam Chanler-Berat, Zion Moreno, and Tavi Gevinson have also signed on to join Lind in the new Gossip Girl.
Shares Deadline about what fans can expect from the reboot, which -- like the original series -- is based on the book by Cecily von Ziegesar: "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address just how much social media -- and the landscape of New York itself -- has changed in the intervening years."
Lind played the role of AMC's Emma in 2010. Her other TV credits include Eastwick, Revenge, Code Black, Sacred Lies, and a small role as Days of our Lives' Grace. She also portrayed a young Dakota Fanning in The Secret Life of Bees, played Shirley Temple in the Scorsese movie J. Edgar, and costarred in the 2019 horror flick Doctor Sleep.
As soap fans may know, Emily Alyn Lind is the sister of The Young and the Restless' Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith Newman).
