Ladros is one of the Eight Shining Generals from the Diamond Kingdom. Even though his personality isn't great, he's similar to Asta because he wasn't born with any magic abilities. Because of this, he faced a tough childhood that influenced who he later became. He undergoes a surgery and gains the ability to absorb and emit mana.
In the middle of the fight, Ladros absorbs Salamander, the fire spirit, and becomes more powerful. He overwhelms Asta in a barrage of long-range attacks. At this point, Asta arises with black mana coming out of his body. His right eye changes color, and a horn and wing sprout out from his right side.
Despite this transformation, Ladros manages to hold his ground in the fight for a while. However, using his ability, Asta charges at Ladros at full speed while covered in anti-magic energy. As eloquently described by Noelle, Asta looked like “a black shooting star….climbing into the sky.” He delivers a slash that expels all the magical power of Ladros.

Every year, there is an event called the War Merits Conferment Ceremony, where magic knights are promoted based on their performances. This ceremony happens at the Royal Capital of the Clover Kingdom in Black Clover. In the ceremony, Julius Novachrono, the Wizard King, promotes several knights.
When Julius leaves, Alecdora Sandler, a member of the Golden Dawn, and some other high-ranking knights start insulting some people there. Nozel, Nebra, and Solid Silva also face Noelle, their sister, and tell her to leave. At this point, Asta has had enough and climbs onto a table to give them a piece of his mind.
Asta boldly speaks up. He defends Noelle, commoners, and poor people, saying they deserve respect, too. He speaks of his dreams to be the Wizard King and how he would shut them up when he achieved it. It gets a little physical, and things might have escalated if the kingdom was not attacked.

In the Dungeon Exploration arc, Asta and his team faced the mysterious Mars. Mars was one of the Eight Shining Generals from the Diamond Kingdom. Mars was fast, skilled, and deadly. At first, Asta struggled to keep up. Asta felt completely overwhelmed by the experience and strength of Mars, especially since he hadn't been in many battles in Black Clover up to this moment. During the battle, he discovers a new sword, the Demon-Dweller Sword, which is really important for the fight.
But using his anti-magic sword and quick reflexes, Asta managed to defeat him. This battle proved that Asta’s strength wasn’t just luck; it was real. To become a magic knight in Black Clover, one must be selected by the captain of a Magic Squad during the Magic Knight exam. After receiving their grimoires, Asta and Yuno attend the exam in hopes of starting their journey to become the Wizard King. In the final stage of the exams, Asta was to fight against Sekke.
This was one of the first scenes that shocked fans. Sekke, a cocky person, thought he would easily beat Asta during the magic knight entrance exam. But Asta charged forward with no magic and defeated him in a single hit. The crowd was stunned.
Everyone thought Asta would fail because he had no magic. His performance during the previous stages of the exam was not exceptional. 6. Asta vs. Liebe

The Elf Reincarnation arc was one of the most wide-scale arcs in Black Clover. Spanning plenty of episodes and filled with shocking twists and turns. The truth about the elves was revealed, and the first Wizard King, Lumiere, was brought back.
Zagred, a devil who caused chaos for centuries, seemed unstoppable. The Magic Knights had been battling with the reincarnated elves, who were on a path of revenge. In the climax of the battles, they face Zagred, the orchestrator of the elf massacre. As a demon against humans, this fight seemed like a lost cause.
But Asta, together with others, had no choice but to surpass their limits and fight him. The chance was given to them when Captain of the Black Bulls Yami Sukehiro used his Dimensional Slash attack to throw Zagred off. Then, using Black Divider, Asta’s sword becomes really massive, and he charges in and slices through Zagred. This brings the fighting to an end in Black Clover.
8. Asta Slicing Dante in the Last Second

Dante of the Dark Triad has the devil Lucifero and uses Body Magic and Gravity Magic. He first fights other members of the Black Bulls, Asta included, defeating them before Yami arrives at the scene. Yami acknowledges that he needed Asta to win. Immediately, Asta, who was down for the count, sprang to his feet and stood beside his captain.
Asta was keeping up with Yami, and their movements were so fluid that it seemed they had practiced together beforehand. Asta’s Anti Magic was very pivotal to winning their battle. He asks his devil to lend him more power. The devil tells him that this power has a 50-second time limit, as his body could not handle it.
Around the end of his time limit, Dante knocked the swords out of Asta’s hand. He blocked all of Asta’s swords from getting back to him with three seconds left. In the last second, Yami gently tossed his katana to Asta, who grabbed it and slashed Dante. Dante fell to the ground, and his transformation had dispersed. This is one of the most popular fights from Black Clover.
9. Asta and Yuno vs. Licht
Arc: The Elf Reincarnation Arc
Episode: 100
In this Black Clover arc, elves who existed a long time ago awakened in the bodies of some Magic Knights. This resulted in fights between unpossessed and possessed knights. Before going against Licht, Asta and Yuno had defeated the elves in Klaus Lunettes and Hamon Caseus’s bodies.
Licht was incredibly fast and powerful. Watching Asta and Yuno team up against him was a treat for fans. The visuals and action during this fight in Black Clover were stunning. Even though they were both young and still learning, they held their ground against a powerful ancient elf. If they could stand together and face Licht, then there are few challenges they could not face.
10. Asta's First Win Against Revchi Salik

At the beginning of Black Clover, Asta and Yuno attend a ceremony to receive their grimoires. During the Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony at Hage Village, Yuno received a four-leaf grimoire. Unfortunately, none of the grimoires approach Asta, and he was told to try the following year.
After receiving his four-leaf grimoire, Yuno was targeted by Revchi Salik, a former Magic Knight. He attacked and chained Yuno up and planned to sell his grimoire on the market. Asta ran in to help his friend, but, without any magic, could not do anything to Revchi. Out of the blue, a five-leaf grimoire approaches Asta with a sword sticking out.
He takes the sword and defeats Revhci, saving Yuno in the process. At this point, fans finally realized that Asta was no laughing matter. He was tough, brave, and ready to fight for what was right. Asta's journey in Black Clover kicked off with this win, showing that he was a tough opponent.
