Blue Box will go on break next week, and chapter 198 is scheduled for release on June 9, 2025, at 12:00 am JST. However, time zone differences will translate this to a June 8, 2025, release for many other locations. Specific global timings for the release are 8:00 am PT, 11:00 am ET, 4:00 pm BST, 5:00 pm CT, and 8:30 pm IST.
Hence, international fans can enjoy the chapter on Sunday itself. The Blue Box manga can be read on Viz’s Shonen Jump website and Shueisha’s Manga Plus platform.

What to expect from Blue Box chapter 198 (speculative)?
Blue Box chapter 198 will likely kick off the class trip, where the entire cast, except Chinatsu, will head out to Tokyo. Given that Taiki is still bashful when thinking about his relationship and kiss with Chinatsu, this break will give him time away to organize his thoughts and make plans for the future with his partner.
The focus would most probably then shift back to Kyo and Ayame’s complex relationship, with neither one of them being courageous enough to confess to each other. Since Ayame has rebounded by dating another boy, Kyo will have to face his fears and confess to the girl he likes.
Regardless of what is set to occur in the coming installments, fans can expect a lot of drama and developments surrounding the main cast.
Blue Box chapter 197 recap
Blue Box chapter 197, titled “Take it Slow," continues the most anticipated series of installments from the series, as Taiki and Chinatsu finally take their relationship to the next level. Having just completed their first kiss in chapter 196, the latest chapter starts with them embracing each other inside Chinatsu’s new apartment.
However, a sound from next door snapped Taiki back to reality, and he frantically suggested that they should head back. Chinatsu agreed but also stated that they could have stayed like that forever. Taiki, being an introverted protagonist, became extremely shy, and his face was flushed red. Right after, they left Chinatsu’s apartment and decided to take things slow.
The scene then shifted to Chinatsu packing up her belongings from the Inomata household with the help of her uncle. While parting ways with them, she was struck by a wave of flashbacks of the times she spent at their home. Touched, she bowed down to them, thankful for the past two years.
Taiki and his father then accompanied Chinatsu to her apartment, during which time the protagonist was embarrassed after seeing the spot where he had kissed Chinatsu. With his memory being interrupted by his father, they unloaded Chinatsu’s luggage and then left.
The next day, Taiki felt the lack of Chinatsu’s presence and headed out to practice badminton. After being greeted by his peers, the school soon descended into chaos over deciding the locations to visit during their class trip to Kyoto. While Taiki and Kyo’s group had rapidly chosen their travel plans, Hina and Ayame were undecided and enthusiastic.
After that, Taiki went to hand his trip itinerary to his teacher, during which time he saw Chinatsu and grew shy upon thinking back to their kiss. By the end of the day, as Taiki was leaving, Chinatsu was waiting for him, and the two decided to walk to her apartment. Sharing a casual conversation, Chinatsu asked for souvenirs from Taiki’s trip and regretted not being in his grade.

Soon, they reached Chinatsu’s apartment, and she invited Taiki upstairs. Unfortunately, the protagonist, still not over the exciting events that had occurred there recently, turned her down, expressing how he had to buy toilet paper for his family. Chinatsu encouraged him to complete his chores, saying that he could come over at any time.
At the end of the chapter, Chinatsu returns to her new house and sinks into her bed. She voices out how it will take her a while to get used to the loneliness.
