Boruto is currently in its sequel series, Two Blue Vortex, where the stakes are higher than ever before. Since Boruto was forced to intervene in the fight against the Human God Trees to protect Konohamaru from Matsuri, he motivated the antagonist’s leader, Jura, to step onto the battlefield himself.

Immediately after, Boruto was on the back foot, with none of his jutsu working against Jura. Fortunately, a sneak peek of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 23 reveals that Boruto is far from finished, as he successfully attacks Jura with Purple Lightning, even taking the God Tree by surprise.

As mentioned, the recent chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex saw the ninjas from Konoha in their battles against the Human God Trees. Sarada had awakened her Mangekyo Sharingan and beaten Ryu, though she fainted right after. On the other hand, Konohamaru failed to kill Matsuri due to her similarities with Moegi, placing him in a precarious situation.

Just as fans were fearing for his life, Boruto stepped into the battle, destroying Matsuri’s body rapidly. However, this was more terrifying than triumphant, as the protagonist’s interference meant that Jura could finally face him.

This was the worst possible event according to Kashin Koji, who saw Boruto die in multiple futures against Jura, after which the world came to an end. Nevertheless, it was too late then, as Jura transported himself near Mitsuki and Sarada through a Claw Grime.

He paid them little attention, however, and immediately headed towards Boruto. Following this, Jura faced off against his target in an intense battle, where his Biju Bombs clashed with the Rasengan.

Though Boruto put up a valiant effort, moving swiftly and using every move in his arsenal against the Human God Tree, they were failing to leave a mark. The protagonist seemed headed for a dire ending when even his trump card, the Rasengan: Uzuhiko, was analyzed by Jura and nullified instantly.

Chapter 22 of Two Blue Vortex ended with Boruto seeming unsure of how to beat his opponent, while the audience despaired that Kashin Koji’s prediction might come true soon. However, the chapter 23 leaks have shown that Naruto’s son is not one to go down without a fight.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 23 sneak peek shows Jura stunned for the first time

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 23 is scheduled for release on June 20, but an early sneak peek has readers buzzing with excitement. This is because the next installment shows that Boruto has not given up just because the Uzuhiko failed, successfully hitting Jura with Purple Lightning.

Lightning Release: Purple Electricity, more popularly known as Purple Lightning, is a jutsu created by Kakashi to replace the Lightning Cutter. It has been used very sparingly, with its first appearance being in an anime canon Boruto episode. However, the jutsu has played a much more important role in Two Blue Vortex.

Soon after Boruto ran into the Human God Trees with Code, he was attacked by Mamushi. In response, he struck the antagonist with the Purple Lightning, which visibly damaged and pushed him back. Hence, Purple Lightning has been proven to be effective against the Human God Trees, which aligns with the next chapter’s sneak peek, where Jura seems stunned after being hit by it.

At the same time, Jura is different from the other Human God Trees and could even accurately counter the unparalleled planetary chakra. Hence, while Purple Lightning may buy Boruto some time, it won't grant him victory by any means.
