The story of Dandadan has offered some intense battles, emotional backstories, and powerful characters. At the center of the series is Okarun, who is the co-lead in this series with Momo Ayase. One fine day, to prove that ghosts don't exist, he entered a haunted cave, which led him to be cursed by Turbo Granny.
Although he eventually gained control over this curse, it became a source of his powers. The cost of gaining this power was losing his family jewels, which meant that the second he recovered them, the curse would be lifted, and he could go back to being a normal boy again. This took some time, but when it happened, he lost his powers. Although he does not get his borrowed powers back, chapter 201 of Dandadan shows a panel where he receives an Ogre Club as a new power-up.

This is a major development because, as of now, Okarun is the only member of the main cast without powers. Okarun has been given this weapon for his self-defense by Granny Seiko, who instructed Manjiro to give training on how to master it.
It is an interesting development for his character because, since the series started, it was established that he would not have Turbo Granny's powers forever. Moreover, with news about someone out there actively trying to start a competition to steal Yokai’s powers, he needs something to defend himself.
Others are not aware that he does not have the power anymore, and there's a chance that they will come after him. Moreover, now that his life is entangled with fighting against Aliens and ghosts, if Okarun cannot fight against them, then his life would be in danger.

In the world of Dadadan, extraterrestrial and supernatural beings constantly look for an opportunity to mercilessly complete their objectives. That is why, with no Turbo Granny powers, Okarun needs the Ogre Club.
These new powers suggest that Dandadan is building the foundation for the new arc. Stripping the hero away from his initial powers, only to give him new ones, is a clear setup that their next opponent will be even more dangerous, and he needs significant training.
Now, instead of relying on speed and reflexes, he will have to physically learn the art of fighting. His character would have a refreshing transformation where he would not have to be worried about going berserk and evolve to being a melee fighter who relies on brute strength.
Currently, since the chapter ended in a cliffhanger, no one knows the extent of the power level of the Ogre Club. The training is about to begin, and Dandadan fans are eagerly waiting to see what this evolution will look like.
Can Turbo Granny come back to Dandadan? (Speculation)
There is a high chance that Turbo Granny will make a comeback in the story. Although her coming back would not directly reflect on Okarun getting his original powers back.
But if she decided to make a reappearance, the best possible outcome would be her deciding to merge with the Ogre Club and further enhance his powers. This would give him a truly unique fighting style and allow the author to blend humor, legacy, and growth into his arc.
Why does it matter that Okarun gets stronger?
The author has already introduced one of the major antagonists of the series. He is a mysterious man who wants to steal abilities and has the power to vanish from others' memories.
For someone with this much power is dangerous to the world, especially their world, because it would tip the balance, with no one to save it from aliens or other supernatural beings.
Furthermore, in chapter 201 of Dandadan, Manjiro hints that his character is starting some sort of competition. If a competition arc starts, Okarun needs to be able to defend himself and also have enough strength to defeat his opponent.
Final thoughts
Ultimately, Okarun having a power he can claim to be his own is good for his character development. Okarun is no longer someone who accidentally has supernatural abilities. While there is a slim chance that he will get his original power back, Dandadan has ensured to make his character have some originality and become someone he is proud of.
