Dandadan Season 2 Episode 2 recap
Dandadan Season 2 Episode 2 adapts chapters 38-41 from the manga, starting with Momo and Okarun being struck by the Tsuchinoko’s psychic waves. Due to the creature’s influence, both main characters tried to kill themselves, although Jiji desperately tried to stop them.
Jiji then recalled that his parents had also attempted suicide in a similar way and realized that the Tsuchinoko was responsible. As the Mongolian Death Worm continued to attack, the boy struggled to carry his friends and Turbo Granny to safety, but ultimately felt helpless against the creature.
Right when they seemed destined for a dire ending, however, a yokai known as the Evil Eye appeared and nullified the Tsuchinoko’s powers. Having finally escaped its influence, Okarun quickly transformed into his Turbo Granny form and sliced the Tsuchinoko in half, though the great snake ended up regenerating.

As the group quickly retreated to plan their next move, Jiji locked eyes with the Evil Eye and glimpsed its tragic past. The flashback revealed a young boy chosen to be a sacrifice to the Tsuchinoko long ago, who was then imprisoned by the Kito Family.
In his heartbreaking situation, the boy's only wish was to play with other kids at least once. Sadly, this never happened, as he was burned alive as an offering. However, soon after his death, the boy was reborn as a spirit bound to the place of his imprisonment.
Since the Kito Family kept rebuilding the altar to trap families, he had no choice but to watch countless loved ones being separated and driven to their deaths over many years. This turned him into a vengeful spirit, transforming the once innocent boy into the Evil Eye, who went from wanting to kill the Kito Family to seeking the destruction of humanity itself.
Having seen its pain, Jiji quickly made his way underground, passing through various houses once used by the Kito Family. At the very end, he opened a door where the Evil Eye’s dead body was kept. Feeling more sympathy for the yokai, Jiji realized it had been locked away and had been protecting him all along.
Then, he saw a vision of a malnourished young boy lying on the floor, looking like he wanted to play. Jiji happily agreed and told him he would spend as much time as he wanted. This fulfilled the condition for the Evil Eye to take on a physical form by possessing his body.
Just as the Tsuchinoko kept releasing a sticky substance and approached Momo to kill her, Jiji, now in his Evil Eye form, brutally defeated it using his ability to control the grudges connected to the house. Unfortunately, the Evil Eye was far from a hero and soon shifted its focus to Momo, delivering a devastating strike to her.
Dandadan Season 2 Episode 2 ends with the Evil Eye trying to deliver a finishing blow to Momo, only to be stopped by Okarun, as the two clash with matching kicks.
