Dandadan Season 2 Episode 4 recap
Dandadan Season 2 Episode 4 picked up right from the previous installment’s cliffhanger ending, where the Tsuchinoko was defeated and a volcano erupted. The incoming disaster resulted in alert warnings being played all across town as residents started evacuating.
Meanwhile, the Kito family started condemning Momo, holding her responsible for the volcano’s eruption after she killed the Great Snake. As Momo reflected on the legend of the Tsuchinoko, which spoke about a dragon rising to the heavens and the mountain engulfing a village, she realized it had been misconstrued over the years.
Momo explained that the dragon in the old tale was a geyser, which was a sign that a volcano was about to blow. Refusing to allow the town to simply fall prey to this faulty legend, Momo picked up the carcass of the Tsuchinoko with her psychic powers and began running.
Deciding to use it as a hose, she ingeniously connected one end of the Death Worm to a water main and sprayed the snake’s phlegm through its mouth. While this worked, the lava was still spreading at a rapid pace. Right then, Naki and the Kito family interrupted Momo, determined to sacrifice her to the volcano and fulfill their purpose of protecting the town.
Thankfully, right when Momo seemed outnumbered, Manjiro turned up to her aid. He revealed that he was Seiko’s disciple but was unable to recognize Momo due to his master’s poor communication skills. Just as Manjiro fought to hold back the Kito Family and Momo continued putting out the lava, trouble arose yet again, as the Evil Eye showed up.
Having taken over Jiji’s body, the yokai was thirsty to kill all the humans in its path. Sensing the urgency of the situation, Naki, Manjiro, and Momo teamed up to face the enemy but suffered a brutal beatdown. Just as things seemed dire, Mr. Mantis Shrimp arrived as backup. Shortly after, Seiko and Taro also descended from a spaceship being driven by Chiquitita.

With a plan in mind, Seiko and Mantis fought to distract the Evil Eye, while Taro ran up and captured him inside his body, which was filled with sealing talismans. This worked, and the hateful yokai was finally stopped. As Seiko reunited with Manjiro and shared friendly banter with him, Momo ran toward the house under which Okarun was trapped.
Though Mantis helped clear a path underground, she was shocked to find it filled with lava, potentially spelling the end for her friend. When trying to figure out a way to get inside and save Okarun, Chiquitita used the spaceship to pull a large chunk of lava to the surface and sprayed the Tsuchinoko’s phlegm on it.
Momo immediately rushed over and broke it open, after which she found Okarun and Turbo Granny inside. Okarun revealed that they had only managed to survive since they were already surrounded by the snake’s phlegm before the lava reached them, which acted as a protective barrier. Dandadan Season 2 Episode 4 ended with Momo hugging Okarun, elated that he was alive.
