Yami Sukehiro in Black Clover has invariably been the fiercest and toughest character. As the captain of the Black Bulls, he's known for charging into danger without hesitation, often positioning himself at eminent risk. With his brash attitude and unmatched strength, it's no surprise people worry about whether he makes it out alive.

The good news is that Yami Sukehiro does not die in Black Clover. Despite confronting deadly opponents and taking brutal hits, he survives thanks to his strong will, powerful magic, and the backing of his squad. Even when things look stern, Yami always finds a way to push through.

The Black Bulls' captain's foremost near-death incident occurs during his intense battle against Dante Zogratis. Fighting alongside Asta, Yami displayed why he earned his stature as one of the kingdom's strongest warriors. Despite being driven to the brink multiple times in Black Clover, especially during the battle against the Dark Triad, Yami survives.

During the gruff Spade Kingdom arc, Yami is seized by Zenon of the Dark Triad. His magical energy plays a key role in initiating the Tree of Qliphoth, a perilous ritual that poses a grave danger to the entire Clover Kingdom. Fans feared the worst as he lay unconscious, used as a human catalyst. However, the combined efforts of Asta, Nacht, and other Magic Knights result in a daring rescue. Even after being severely drained, Yami’s determination to keep fighting never falters in Black Clover.

Yami’s condition after the rescue is serious. He suffers internal injuries and is visibly affected by the experience. Yet, his humorous and laid-back nature returns, reassuring the Black Bulls and readers alike that their captain is still very much alive.

During the Judgment Day arc in Black Clover, Yami encountered another life-threatening situation that required desperate measures. When Lucius Zogratis sets his plan in motion to reshape the world, he revives Morgan, Yami’s old friend and Nacht’s twin brother, as a Paladin. This twist hits Yami hard, forcing him to fight someone he once respected deeply.

Even though he defeats Morgan, the real terror he and Nacht had to face was Lucius in Black Clover. However, the confrontation took a devastating turn when Lucius's transformed wings pierced through both fighters' chests. At that dying moment, His sister Ichika provided him with the Kikongan, a dangerous clan secret known as the Demon Soul Pill. This mysterious drug typically drives users into uncontrollable bloodthirsty frenzies, making it extremely risky to consume.

Yami became the first known person to successfully maintain his sanity while using this powerful enhancement. The transformation granted him distinctive devil-like horns and amplified his already formidable Dark Magic abilities. This development in Black Clover not only saved his life but also revealed new depths to his ancestral Kijin heritage from the Land of the Sun.

After enduring the ordeal and emerging changed, Yami resumes his role as the Black Bulls’ leader with newfound power. He now brandishes the Mistilteinn blade—a gift from William Vangeance—crafted with World Tree Magic. This new sword, which took the place of his old katana, now wielded by Asta, reflects the deepening trust between the captains of the Magic Knights.

As of now, Yami remains alive in Black Clover, scarred but stronger. For fans worried about his fate, there is no death to mourn. Only a warrior who refuses to give up. He survived against all odds and is still playing an important role in the series.
