Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is just around the corner, and fans have every reason to be hyped for it. Just as the Shibuya Incident arc came to its conclusion, everyone wants to know what is going to happen next. MAPPA and GKIDS have worked hard and maintained the hype around the series by releasing a teaser for a new Jujutsu Kaisen movie.
It is going to be a compilation movie that, according to official sources, we know that it will revisit. the ends of Shibuya and also give fans their first real glimpse of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3. The movie is scheduled to be released in Japan this December.
This early sneak peek will officially kick off Yuji Itadori’s next brutal chapter, featuring the long-awaited showdown between Yuji and Yuta Okkotsu, two of Satoru Gojo’s most gifted students now forced to fight under tragic circumstances.
The new trailer shows us that the story picks up straight after the devastating events of the Shibuya Incident. Itadori Yuji is shattered by guilt after Sukuna had managed to take control of his body and unleashed destruction on a massive scale.
Meanwhile, with no Gojo to save his students, Yuji is being targeted by higher-ups as they have decided to revoke his pardon and issue an execution order. Then enters Yuta Okkotsu, he is a special-grade sorcerer who was first introduced in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
In the story, he has been given the responsibility to make sure this order has been executed, and Itadori Yuji has been killed. The trailer is breathtaking due to the flawless animation, and yet heartbreaking at the same time, as Yuta and Yuji are meeting in this type of situation.
Yuji vs Yuta: A battle between Gojo’s students
The tension between Yuji and Yuta defines Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3. Both of them have deep personal reasons to be partaking in this battle. Yuji is consumed by guilt and is starting to feel like he deserves to die, and Yuta has been burdened with this task.
In the manga, this battle takes place in Shibuya, and the trailer has managed to faithfully capture their encounter. Moreover, MAPPA's unique animation style is the highlight, as every attack seems dynamic, and we see the smallest of emotions behind their eyes.
We can see Yuji trying to survive on instinct alone while Yuta, reinforced by cursed energy and guided by duty, closes in for the kill. With just this small teaser showcasing glimpses of this fight, it seems like Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 might be the darkest yet most human chapter.
