The All-devouring Whale episode 7 recap

The All-devouring Whale episode 7 continues the adventures of the Lingxiao Pavilion in the D-rank assessment test as they search for spores. The focus falls on Yue Tong, who struggles to control her powerful pet, the Rhino Horn Panda. Nevertheless, she remained satisfied since the pet was collecting the spores for her.

However, they soon ran into trouble when confronted by a group of three girls. Though Yue was expecting it to be a difficult battle, it was surprisingly easy as her panda beat up the girls’ pets. In a surprising change of attitude, the girls immediately broke down into tears, explaining that they were a girl group participating for more exposure.

Unfortunately, soon after joining, they were attacked by villains and one of their members, Yanmei, was captured by an evil man. As a result, the rest of the group was collecting spores at his bidding, hoping to free Yanmei. Hearing their woes, Yue Tong decided to help them.

Soon after, they ran into the man, who was holding Yanmei hostage with his spirit pet. Yue took him by surprise, and the Rhino Horn Panda instantly destroyed his pet. Just when it seemed like the day was saved, however, the man revealed that he had placed a Spine-breaking Worm on Yanmei, which would kill her if her allies rebelled any further.

He ordered Yue Tong and the rest of the girls to follow his orders, and the situation was dire. At that moment, Yue experienced a vision of her presumed past where she was in a similar predicament. This caused her to scream out and unlock another level of power, where her body was enveloped in a red aura and her eyes were glowing.

Having clearly changed, Yue instantly grabbed the villain and slammed him to the ground. She then subdued him with a powerful strike, causing the Spine-breaking Worm to be disarmed. This saved Yanmei, though Yue fainted right after. Upon waking up, Yue was told what had occurred by the girl group, though she couldn’t remember what she had done.

It was revealed that she had lost all memories of her past, but it seemed connected to the hidden power she possessed. Not wanting to dwell on it further, Yue and the Rhino Horn Panda continued with the competition. As they were leaving, the girl group expressed their desire to join the Lingxiao Pavilion after the assessment ended.

The All-devouring Whale then shifted the scene to the assessment administrator’s office, where the rankings were revealed. The Beckon Society of the Ease Sect was first, while the Lingxiao Pavilion was seventh. At the same time, the Tianyun Sect had been killed, indicating how murderers were taking advantage of the competition’s rules.

Back at the assessment, Fengmang was still being chased by Jiang Rou’er, a girl who knew the previous owner of his body in The All-devouring Whale. She seemed to hold feelings of attraction towards him, even speaking about a disease Fengmang had. As they were sharing a conversation and engaging in playful banter, they ran into Su Muchuan and his foxes.

After Fengmang reunited with Muchuan and was greeted by his group, he wondered why they were collecting spores together rather than splitting up. The reason soon became clear as all of them were confronted by Nie Xing, a man from the Beckon Society. His evil aura was enough to put Muchuan and Fengmang on high alert.

Muchuan did not wish to fight Nie Xing and explained how there was no need to pointlessly engage in battle since the spores were not transferable once they had been collected in one’s bracelet. At the most inopportune moment, however, the assessment administrators announced the start of the second stage of the test.

Individuals would now be allowed to steal spores from others by maintaining contact between bracelets for 30 seconds. With this harsh and conveniently timed conflict of interest, Nie Xing jumped at his opponents, revealing the terrifying parasitic form of his Coiling Dread-spine spirit beast.

Just as Fengmang was prepared to fight the enemy, Muchuan ran away, dragging him and Jiang along. The protagonist was confused, as their group appeared formidable. Muchuan then explained how his sect was fake and consisted of beggars he had hired to meet the quota and enter the test. Hence, they would be easily outmatched by Nie Xing.

At the administrator's office, Bai Liansu questioned the need for the second stage, since it would clearly promote killing. In response, Bai Tianshu explained how the purpose of the test was to make weak sects quit, allowing only the stronger groups to survive.

The All-devouring Whale episode 7 ends with Nie Xing having killed the beggars, though all their spores were with Su Muchuan. He expresses how he’d keep the boy in his mind, hinting at a future battle.
