One Piece is currently more popular than ever, with the latest installments’ exploration of the Rocks Pirates and the Roger Pirates sending the fandom into a frenzy. While the Elbaph flashback has spanned several decades in the series, covering multiple iconic events, one particular event that is now closer than ever to being revealed has most fans waiting with bated breath: the God Valley Incident.

The God Valley Incident is arguably One Piece’s most iconic occurrence. Taking place 38 years before the present timeline, it featured a Native Hunting Competition of the nobles, where Kuma was notably trapped. However, after Ginny leaked the news to the outside world, the Rocks Pirates rapidly made their way to the island to retrieve a stolen treasure from Hachinosu.

Fearing what Xebec might do to the residents of the island, Roger made his way to counter him. Upon hearing this, Garp, too, moved quickly. While the events of the actual battle remain a mystery, it is widely known that Roger and Garp formed an alliance to defeat Xebec. The God’s Knights, led by Garling, also participated in some capacity.

Rocks D. Xebec died under unknown circumstances during this confrontation, though his body was never found. The Rocks Pirates also split up soon after, forming their own pirate crews and earning renown throughout the seas.

The aftermath of the God Valley Incident changed the One Piece world forever. Kuma gained the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi and escaped along with Ginny and Ivankov. Kaido obtained the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, which helped him become the strongest creature. Garp earned the nickname of the “Hero of the Marines”, while the Roger Pirates found and adopted Shanks.

Will One Piece chapter 1157 cover the God Valley Incident?

From the various developments mentioned above, it is no surprise that the God Valley Incident is eagerly awaited by every One Piece fan. The recent chapters of the manga have finally introduced Rocks D. Xebec, who is far more fascinating and powerful than anyone had expected.

Additionally, after Xebec took over Hachinosu, he hinted at requiring two Devil Fruits to bring down the World Government. One of these was in Elbaph and needed to be consumed by Harald. With the Rocks Pirates occupying Hachinosu, Xebec’s hatred toward Imu being established, and Roger and Garp’s rivalry unfolding on the sidelines, all the key players for the God Valley Incident have taken their respective positions.

Given that the One Piece manga is currently on break, fans are all but convinced that chapter 1157 will bring the series back with a bang, as the truth surrounding the God Valley Incident is finally unveiled. Readers are hoping to gain answers to this event filled with mystery.

Firstly, since it is highly unlikely that even with their combined forces, Roger and Garp could kill Xebec, there is a likelihood that someone in the Rocks Pirates betrayed their captain. The upcoming chapters may also showcase Hachinosu’s treasure and the Devil Fruits Xebec sought.

The true power of Gol D. Roger, theories of Buggy’s link to Xebec, and speculation on whether the World Government currently possesses the infamous pirate’s body may also be revealed. Hence, expectations for the God Valley Incident are sky high, and the current pacing certainly makes it seem like chapter 1157 will finally bring the truth of this event to light.
