The latest chapters of Black Clover manga are a total gut-punch. Lucius Zogratis is officially done for. Julius Novachrono made the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good of the kingdom. With this latest issue of Jump GIGA for Winter 2026, fans got three consecutive issues that finally settled the final battle of the series.

This issue will not be the last Black Clover manga delivering, as Spring 2026 will mark the end of the series with the next quarterly Jump GIGA release. Shueisha has announced that the series has now entered into its “Super Climax,” meaning there is only one more batch of chapters left until Tabata finally puts down the journey of Asta to become Wizard King.

The Winter 2026 edition of the Black Clover manga volume included chapters 387 to 389. This volume was exciting because it had the final battle between Asta (the main character), his rival Yuno, and the villain Lucius Zogratis. This was an incredible fight that highlighted the full potential of both Asta and Yuno and how much they have grown and learned from each other over the years.

Asta had fully merged with his Devil Partner Liebe, while Yuno was completely merged with the Wind Spirit Sylph. Together, they were able to deliver the final blow to Lucius, aided by Noelle, who was able to distract Lucius at the right moment.

The confrontation ended with a surprising twist. Julius Novachrono awakened from within Lucius' possessed body. He used his time magic to restore all damage inflicted upon the Clover Kingdom and its citizens before passing away. This sacrifice left the Wizard King's throne vacant.

Shueisha dropped a sweet announcement that Black Clover manga is gonna make a return with a dope lead color page in Jump GIGA Spring of 2026. This issue usually hits the shelves somewhere around late April or early May. Then they started calling it the "Super Climax" promotional materials. It basically tells us that it sounds like we're getting real close to wrapping this one up.

The epilogue chapters will probably be in Spring 2026, but there are still lots of loose ends that need tying up before then. Fans want to know who will be the next Wizard King, and what will happen with Asta and Yuno? Will they fight each other for the throne? Lots of fans seem to think it will eventually come down to their fight versus all others.

What loose ends need resolution in the final chapters?

Before this series ends, there are several narratives that need to be resolved. The biggest ongoing question is what will happen with the Wizard King. Asta and Yuno both showed they were worthy of being the Wizard King by how they fought in the final battle of the main storyline. Some fans have speculated that they may become co-leaders.

Yuno is also a prince of the Spade Kingdom, so he could return to his country as king instead of becoming Wizard King for the Clover Kingdom. This means that, even though he has no magic, Asta would still be the obvious choice for Wizard King. The remaining chapters must also provide emotional resolution.

All these characters (especially the Black Bulls) have gone through 11 years and over 390 chapters of growth, so they all need to have a proper farewell.

Final thoughts on the Black Clover manga conclusion

As Black Clover manga gets closer to wrapping up, the fandom has mixed feelings about it. When the Spring season of 2026 arrives, it will eventually close out the entire series. How well the last bit holds up for readers who have been there for years is yet to be determined.

But while some readers may or may not enjoy the end, there is no denying that this series made an impact on the Shonen genre. Asta's journey from being a magic-less orphan to becoming the hero of a Kingdom has connected with many people.

After nearly 11 years together, this was going to be one of the hardest goodbyes. The Spring 2026 edition of Jump GIGA isn't just going to mark the end of the road for the series, but it will be a chance to celebrate what Black Clover manga accomplished over all those years.
