Wandance Season 2 hasn't been given the go-ahead yet since the first season just wrapped up on December 24, 2022. This anime consists of 12 episodes produced by Madhouse and Cyclone Graphics and follows Kaboku Kotani and his journey as a hip-hop dancer.

As of now, there's been no word from the production committee on whether or not they plan to continue the series, but there are a few different routes they might take moving forward.

What determines anime renewals?

There are a ton of different things that will help determine if an anime will get a second season, but the most important factor is definitely how much money it brings in. If an anime sells enough Blu-rays and DVDs (usually around 4,000+) to make a profit, then it's likely to return for another season.

Also, popularity is a huge factor. If an anime has high viewership on streaming platforms like Hulu or Disney+, that could work out favourably for Wandance Season 2. With the global distribution of anime through big-name streaming services, Wandance has the potential to make it big outside of Japan.

Source material for the manga, Wandance by Coffee, has been published in Kodansha's monthly magazine since January 2019. In December 2025, 15 comic book volumes have been printed, and lots of materials are available for development into an anime series. The first season adapted roughly the first five volumes, leaving lots of room for many more adaptations to come.

Assessing Wandance Season 2 prospects

The timing of any renewal announcement provides important context. The anime only finished airing in December 2025, making this an extremely early period for renewal news. Most shows will wait several months before they officially confirm any continuation plans after their first season has ended.

Wandance has some benefits as well as some disadvantages regarding Season 2. One of the positives for Wandance is the fact that it partnered with large distribution companies such as Disney+ and Hulu. All of this gives Wandance a lot of distribution power.

There are still some challenges. Some people have loved the story and characters, while others have had mixed feelings about the quality of the CGI used in the anime. We'll have to see how the animation style affects decisions made going forward.

What comes next?

For the time being, the need for patience regarding any announcements related to Wandance Season 2 continues, as production committees usually take a few months to evaluate performance metrics before deciding on renewal.

If Season 2 gets the green light, the anime production timeline is that the anime takes 12-18 months to be made or produced from when it's announced. So even if they announce it early in 2026, we'll probably end up seeing Wandance Season 2 in 2027 at the earliest.

Final thoughts on Wandance Season 2

The question of Wandance Season 2 remains unanswered officially. There are tons of things that will ultimately decide whether we get a second season, like streaming performance and Production capacity.

Fans hoping for Wandance Season 2 should maintain realistic expectations while supporting the franchise through legitimate channels. Within the next few months, there will most likely be a lot more signals indicating whether or not we can expect Season 2.
