The Bold and the Beautiful What-to-Watch moments, January 7: Steffy's bombshell news crushes Carter

Relationships are hanging on by a thread in Los Angeles. As Kimberlin Brown's Sheila Carter continues spiraling toward the dark side, her husband, Deacon Sharpe, is growing closer than ever to his therapist, Dr. Taylor Hayes. Elsewhere, just as Carter realized that Daphne might be the one for him, Steffy reveals that Daphne is planning a fast getaway back to Paris. Here is everything you need to know about the high-stakes drama coming to The Bold and the Beautiful on Wednesday, January 7.

Sheila is going through it right now. First, she was left off of Hope (Annika Noelle) and Liam's (Scott Clifton) wedding guest list. That sent her into a downward spiral because she believes she will never truly be accepted by Deacon's (Sean Kanan) children, Hope and Deke (Harrison Cone).

Taylor (Rebecca Budig) has made it abundantly clear that she is not welcome at her office. The surprise visits need to stop. With Sheila unable to open up to Taylor, she is running out of options.

On Wednesday's new episode, Li (Naomi Matsuda) gets summoned by Sheila, which isn't surprising considering she's one of the only people willing to interact with her. Despite their unorthodox friendship, Li's been the voice of reason for Sheila on numerous occasions, especially when it pertains to Taylor. She witnessed Sheila promise to harm Taylor if anything inappropriate ever happened between her and Deacon. Hopefully, she's coming back into the fold to talk her frenemy off the ledge.

To Sheila's credit, something is going on between Deacon and Taylor. Although they haven't crossed the line as far as they could, several ethical violations are taking place. Deacon holding hands with his therapist and asking her how she felt about him might be what takes this over the edge.

Sheila is a lot of things, but she isn't wrong. This is not going to end well for anyone involved, so it's up to Li to keep Sheila from resorting to violence and putting yet another bullet in the doctor.

Will a Surprise Proposal Save Carter and Daphne?

Things at Forrester Creations aren't going much better in the relationship department, and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) is about to lose everything. Daphne (Murielle Hilaire) could very well be Carter's final opportunity to find someone to share his life with.

On Wednesday, Carter and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) are blindsided by Steffy's (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) news that Daphne plans to relocate back to Paris. Carter and Ridge spent most of Tuesday's episode discussing how the karaoke queen might be his soulmate, and now he stands to lose it all.

Daphne's exit feels abrupt, given that she and Carter spent the holidays together. Steffy reminded Daphne of this, but she claims that since Carter never labeled their relationship, she was throwing in the towel.

Not a lot of time has passed between Eric's (John McCook) Christmas party and now,but for some reason, Daphne has entirely given up on whatever she could have with the Forrester COO. Something else must be brewing beneath the surface because this feels like a drastically different stance than her speech at the holiday event.

Carter, being Carter, will undoubtedly escalate this to the highest degree. He has a history of rushing to the altar, and it's plausible that he might view an engagement as the only way to keep Daphne in town. If Carter gets on bended knee and pops the question, it could go one of two ways. Daphne surprisingly agrees to his request, and they begin planning their lives together. Or she could show immediate resistance, which could spell doom for the best chance Carter has at becoming a married man.
