Soap star Kimberlin Brown (Sheila Carter, The Bold and the Beautiful/The Young and the Restless) is throwing her hat in the race for Congress.

eteran soap actress Kimberlin Brown (Sheila Carter, The Bold and the Beautiful/The Young and the Restless) may be able to add politician to her résumé because she has announced she intends to run for Congress.

The California native took to Facebook with the news, writing: "I'm thrilled to announce that I'm running for Congress in California's 36th District! I'd appreciate it if you'd visit my website to learn more about my campaign and share this post with your friends to help spread the word."

Brown's site, which is kimberlinforcongress.com, gives her viewpoints on issues like healthcare, national security, border and immigration reform, and budget and tax reform. It also describes her as not just an actress, but also "a proud wife and mother, successful entrepreneur, philanthropist, two-time bone marrow donor, and a passionate advocate for women engagement in politics."

As fans may recall, Brown was a guest speaker at the Republican National Convention in July 2016. General Hospital star Antonio Sabato Jr. (ex-Jagger Cates) also spoke at the convention and announced that he's running for Congress back in May.
