(Not?) Dead Luna's Redemption Arc: The Bold and the Beautiful Two Scoops for the Week of July 7th

Does anyone really think The Bold and the Beautiful's Luna Nozawa is really and most sincerely dead? No, we didn't think so. There is just something very odd about Luna dying in recovery, with apparently only Li as a witness. Sure, Luna is dead. Sure, sure.

Death does not become her

We all know Li doesn't have any qualms about making people believe someone is dead, only to keep them on life support and nurse them back to health in a hotel room. She is an old pro at this, and we're willing to bet Luna has a nice room at the Hyatt already. Hey, Luna always wanted to live the life of luxury, right? It has to beat her tiny one-room apartment.

Let's retrace Li's thoughts for the week. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Li felt bad for Luna. Since the day she first discovered Luna in Los Angeles, Li had shown nothing but disdain for the girl, especially after she used her Nozawa Power to subdue her last summer after Luna locked Steffy in a cage and left her to die. We knew something was up when Li changed her tune.

By the time Luna was in surgery and Li used her Nozawa Power to revive her after she was bleeding out while lamenting how troubled she was, it was clear as day that Li was about to do something. The idea of the cops waiting on Luna to take her back to jail had to be too much for Li, so she lied to her sister and told her that her daughter was dead. That's where we saw the redemption arc forming.

If at first you don't succeed...

Perhaps The Bold and the Beautiful realized that Luna constantly blaming her actions on a flighty mother was not exactly an excuse for double murder. So, the show apparently decided to turn Poppy into a cold, heartless monster who felt relief upon learning her child had died. Yep, that could turn someone into a killer.

Even Steffy was horrified when she heard Poppy utter those words, and we all know Steffy was willing to take Luna down if she could. It was honestly one of the most shocking and horrific things we have ever heard uttered on a soap. Even the most deranged villains love their kids and don't express glee and relief when one of them dies.

That puts Poppy Nozawa in a class by herself and may prove to be the one thing that makes the audience feel sorry for Luna, even if our theory is wrong and she is not dead. But yeah, Luna isn't dead. No way. Right?

Dead man walking

Liam is also not dead, at least not yet. But he found the strength of Goliath when he lunged for that gun and shot Luna point-blank in the chest, declaring he was a dead man anyway. Liam didn't let a little thing like a bullet wound get him down. He was going to save Steffy because Liam made a vow and was determined to stick to it.

Now, the sister wives are by his side, willing him to wake, but that bloody scene in the beach house art school really was something. We're just not sure what. Maybe it was just one more reminder that Finn can't make a move without Steffy.

He barreled through the door, surveyed the scene, and then stood there like a deer caught in the headlights until Steffy started barking out orders. "Do something, Finn. Save Liam," Steffy commanded, prompting Finn to finally spring into action. We really hope University Hospital doesn't put Finn on ER duty often because, woo-boy, would there be a lot of dead patients. But Finn's gonna Finn, Liam's gonna Liam, and Steffy? Well, she will never stop being Steffy. Now, do something, Finn.

Joke's on Sheila

Leave it to B&B to take Sheila Nine Toes and turn her into Sheila Eight Toes. When we heard that Sheila had been shot in the foot, we wondered if the soap would go there, and it did, much to our delight. And apparently, Deacon's. And Sheila's too. Our weird little couple, whom we don't understand, thought the whole thing was a laugh riot. And they might be right. When will Sheila become Sheila Seven Toes, cause we just feel that coming sometime in the next few years? At least Deacon will always have a way to identify his lady love the next time she is presumed dead.

Yeah, Bill, you built that

Sheila's toe. Luna's maybe death. Liam's bullet wound. Steffy's terror. Who can it all be traced back to? Yep, it's you, Dollar Bill. You made it all happen, and why? This is something we never understood. Why did Bill take such a liking to this girl he had just met, who turned out not to be his daughter after all? In fact, she tricked him into believing that he was her father, which should have made Luna persona non grata to Bill.

Instead, he let her live in his home on house arrest and took pity on her because she had a sad childhood like he did. That's enough to get a double murderer pardoned, right? And then send her on her way to fend for herself. None of it made sense then, and it makes even less sense now. What could have possessed Bill to do a thing like this and then unleash a girl like this onto the world? She killed two people and spent about three months in jail.

Bill needs a reckoning just for being so darn stupid, and seeing Liam in that hospital bed just may be it. Now, if we can move on with Liam's tumor story and finally let his father in, we might be getting somewhere.

Till next week, Scoopers, when Steffy hopefully stops barking out orders.
