The majority of this week's episode centered around Luna's escape from prison, and although that entire storyline jumped the shark many months ago, there were still several highlights this week that proved that The Bold and the Beautiful can deliver as a soap when it needs to. One of the top moments centered around Luna herself, and watching the weight of the world fall down on top of her, once she realized that there was nowhere to turn. The gravity of her actions finally caught up to her, and the moment she seemingly broke from her delusion was the payoff that viewers deserved.

Luna's breakdown at the beach house was a stripped-down, bare bones version of the character, finally absent of excuses for her horrific actions. For the first time, she took accountability for the sexual assault on Will and acknowledged that she never should've committed the murders or the kidnappings. Although it was too little, too late, it was something that needed to happen if the character is to ever return. However, something that was needed even more was a definitive ending to Luna's antics, and being struck by a car delivered exactly that. The Luna chapter is closed, and the characters that remain on the canvas can rebuild from the madness.

Quote of the Week - Deacon, unphased by his wife's active grief, ""Karma's a bitch, and it finally caught up to Luna."

Another shining star in an otherwise drab week of episodes was the ongoing tension between sisters, Li (Naomi Matsuda) and Poppy (Romy Park). These women loathe each other, and they aren't afraid to take snipes that cut deep to their cores. Even before Luna's death, Poppy cut ties to her daughter, but now that Luna's death has been confirmed, she's not walking any of it back. Whether or not she's entitled to those feelings, Li finds it utterly repulsive that Poppy could be so callous.

However, earlier in the week, their sit-down at Il Giardino was just as contentious, with Poppy and Li taking shots at each other over past decisions. Everything about their relationship is strained and unorthodox, but their scenes are electric, and they don't get nearly enough airtime to flesh out their storyline. Although Poppy and Li act like it's the first time they've ever been in the same room in any scene they’re in, that's part of what makes their interactions so fascinating to unfold. Despite the painfully messy nature of their relationship, it's rooted in such realism that many viewers could relate to complicated family dynamics. Neither woman appears capable of speaking to the other without triggering a landmine that digs up decades of bad blood.

One of the other best moments of the week was Steffy's reaction to Luna's death, in terms of how she handled Finn's conflicting emotions. Instead of ordering Finn how to feel about the death of his daughter, something she's done in the past with Sheila, she had a gentler approach. She listened, she held him, and she reminded him that she was always there for him, too, and not just the other way around. For once, Steffy's fear and frustration didn't take center stage, and although she openly stated her feelings of relief surrounding Luna's death, she gave Finn the ability to speak freely. It was a small but subtle shift for a character who sometimes can't get out of her own way.
