The Bold and the Beautiful characters who could seek custody of Luna’s baby

On The Bold and the Beautiful, Luna was finally sent back to prison after using her pregnancy to evade justice. Katie warned Luna on Tuesday's all-new episode that she and Bill would take the baby from Luna after she gives birth. However, despite Will being confirmed as the child's father, there are other characters with potential claims to custody.

Finn could step in on The Bold and the Beautiful

Poppy (Romy Park) lied to everyone about Luna's (Lisa Yamada) paternity for her entire life, something that robbed Finn (Tanner Novlan) of being there for his daughter. Finn has stated on several occasions that he believed his influence could've potentially prevented the mayhem caused by Luna. Much of Luna's motivation for criminal behavior stemmed from growing up without a father. The men she murdered, and the lengths she went to, to frame her mother, came from a place of revenge.

Luna's baby could serve as an opportunity for Finn to retain a connection to his daughter without letting her into his life. Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is returning soon, and that could complicate things in their marriage, but Finn has been known to deviate from what he's told. Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) has gotten close to their family on numerous instances because Finn couldn't commit to keeping her at bay. However, this baby is different.

Despite everyone’s (namely, Ridge's) desire to forget the fact, the baby inside of Luna is Finn's grandchild, and they're just an innocent pawn in her twisted game. Despite Luna's (or even Sheila's) penchant for heinous crimes, the baby had no part in that, so there’s no desperate need for Finn to keep his distance. This could serve as a second chance for Finn to bond with that part of his life. If Will doesn't feel ready to be a father, the next best thing might be Finn stepping in and taking over. He can provide the baby with a loving, stable home, which Luna would never be able to do, in or out of prison.

It's raining grandparents

Finn is far from the only grandparent to Luna's baby who might stake a claim once she gives birth. The other immediate grandparent besides Bill (Don Diamont), Katie (Heather Tom), and Finn is Poppy, who may be looking for a second chance of her own. Poppy's poor parenting has been well documented, with Luna attributing it to several of her violent actions. However, she might be ready to prove to Luna, Li (Naomi Matsuda), and everyone else that she can do things differently this time around. Although Bill and Katie have already proclaimed a desire to raise the child, Poppy is quite the wildcard and could throw her name into the ring.

If grandparents are possible contenders for custody, there's always the chance, although rather unlikely, that two of the great-grandparents could step forward. Although Li is responsible for faking Luna's death, which allowed her to sexually assault Will, she may want a shot at redemption. Raising the baby could be Li's way of seeking forgiveness in the world. However, because of her past with Luna, it would be difficult to trust that she'd keep the baby from its unhinged mother.

The most unconventional option available would be if Sheila sought custody of Luna's baby. Given Sheila's colorful criminal past, she likely wouldn't have much success in a court battle against any of the other contenders, but it's a dramatic possibility to consider. Sheila would undoubtedly give Luna access to her child, and there's always a chance she could fully slip back into her old ways. If Deacon (Sean Kanan) was worried now that Sheila had reverted to her previous self, imagine what she'd do to protect her grandchild that she was raising.
