What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

Hope and Liam's wedding reception got off to a roaring and happy start as the adults congratulated Beth on doing such a good job officiating the nuptials. All the kids got high fives as Liam told Beth how incredible she was. "You crushed it, Sis," Kelly said.
The kids kibbitzed over the onion rings as Deke marveled at how fabulous Beth was. Will raised his glass to propose a toast to his brother and his new bride. Hope gave Liam a wink as they all drank champagne. As the girls swirled around in their little dresses, Bill and Katie kissed and everyone mingled. Finally, Beth made a speech.
"If you couldn't already tell, my parents, they love each other very much and we're all excited to be a family again," Beth said. Kelly added, "And I just want to say how happy I am to see my Daddy happy." Even Douglas had something to say: "I could see the smile on my mom's face. That's all I want, Mom, to see your happiness."
Hope spoke and told Douglas that one of the big reasons for her big smile was having Douglas there with her. Deacon then gave a toast, expressing how happy he was to have both of his kids there. Bill also had some words to say. "Liam, I have said it before and I will keep saying it. You're the man I look up to...You have most certainly contributed to the changes I needed to make and those changes brought my Katie back into my life," Bill gushed.
Then, Brooke gave her speech. "Hope, darling, your name says it all. You bring hope into every room you walk into...and I just cherish you, to the moon and back," she said in a choked-up voice.
Liam thanked everyone for being there and supporting them. He also thanked the three kids, including Douglas, who flew in from Paris, and Beth for planning the wedding. He then turned to his bride. "I didn't think it was possible to be more in love with you than it was the last time that we did this, but I am...Without further ado, to Hope Logan, to my partner, my best friend, my confidante, my teacher, my wife." The couple soon cut the cake as their family cheered around them.
In a corner, Bill marveled at his and Katie's good fortune in finding their way back to one another. That's when Bill proposed and suggested they get married right then and there. He got down on one knee and said, "Katie Logan, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife tonight?"
Taylor and Steffy were thrilled that Taylor's next patient was sick, because that meant they had more time to sit around drinking coffee while talking about Ridge. Steffy told Taylor that Ridge was feeling guilty for throwing Eric a retirement party before even telling Eric that he was forcing him to retire.
Taylor was shocked to hear that Eric and Ridge hadn't even spoken since the ill-fated retirement party. However, she noted that security informed them that Eric was in the showroom, so Ridge went to see him so they could talk it out. "I hope they have a chance to clear the air," Steffy said.
In the showroom, Ridge once again tried explaining his point of view to Eric. He never meant to hurt his dad. "So, if you want to be here, be here," Ridge said. "I'm sorry. I made a mistake. Let's finish this line together."
As Eric's dramatic music began to play, Ridge was surprised when his father told him, "No." Eric admitted that his pride had been bruised, but now he wanted to give retirement a try. After all, he already had a last collection that was a roaring success. "What gives me more pleasure is to know that you're running this company. My boy. My talented boy," Eric added.
Eric wasn't sure that his retirement would be permanent, but he was willing to give it a whirl and see what happened. Ridge was a little disturbed by that and also wondered if he was the problem. "This is something you decided. Nobody's pushing you to do this, right?" he asked. "If you want to be here, if you want to design, if that's what you want and need, let's just do it."
Eric admitted he wasn't 100 percent sure what he wanted, but was glad to have had such a long run. "The best thing about this is that I have done so much of this with you. That's what I take pleasure in," Eric said. "Your mother and I started this business with the idea that we would give it to our children. Maybe this is that day. Maybe it's time Forrester was run by you and Brooke."
Eric even forgave Ridge for the forced retirement party and admitted that he could be stubborn sometimes.
