What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

Brooke drew a hard line and insisted that Katie had no right to the Logan name. Katie fired back that anything related to Logan was actually named Forrester. Brooke was not known specifically as a Logan. She told her sister that her line was called “Brooke’s Bedroom, not Logan Lingerie,” which was a seemingly fair point. Katie found the entire back-and-forth to be absurd.
Donna requested that they cease fighting and find a name that worked better for everyone. Brooke thought the only solution was to drop the Logan name. She told Katie that her name meant nothing in the fashion industry, and she was the only one that everyone knew. Brooke Logan was the only name that mattered. Katie implored Brooke to reflect on how insulting this was to her.
Ridge claimed it was a legal issue, but Bill didn’t think that Logan and Logan Designs were the same. Katie felt disrespected because, after supporting Brooke countless times, her sister could not return the favor. Ridge stormed out of Spencer’s office, saying they were finished with the discussion and that the only option was to change the name.
Katie broke down after Ridge and her sisters departed. Bill comforted her the best that he could. She screamed that she was the one who kept Brooke relevant in the industry for the last decade. Katie didn’t think it was fair that Brooke claimed sole ownership of their mutual last name.
Liam entered the office and noticed the somber mood in the room. He wanted to know whether Logan was the name of the new fashion house, and he loved it, comparing it to some of the industry's most famous brands. He asked why it was a problem for Brooke since it was their family name. Katie explained that Brooke was not only not thrilled but also insistent that the name be changed immediately.
Liam didn’t think Brooke was correct in this situation, and Bill agreed. He encouraged his new bride to move forward without letting them influence her. Liam wondered if Ridge and Brooke were threatened by the potential impact she could make in the industry. Still, Katie doubted herself. She referred to herself as a nobody in the industry.
Bill thought this was another example of Brooke stepping all over Katie. He refused to let her be treated poorly by her sister. Bill ordered Liam to get access to the Logan trademark as quickly as possible. Katie couldn’t understand why Brooke would micromanage the name, and Bill promised that Liam was trying to secure the trademark. The name Logan was trademarked, but it lapsed a year prior. It was up for grabs, and Bill urged him to hurry and procure it. The race was officially on.
Back at Forrester, Brooke asked Ridge if she was the villain in the situation. She wanted the company to be called something else. Brooke felt bad that Donna had been caught in the crossfire and worried that this situation would cause a family fracture. Ridge assured her that it would be fine once Katie decided to change the name. To Ridge, as long as Katie conformed, he was happy to support her.
Ridge and Brooke pleaded with Carter to help them stop Katie before she moved ahead with Logan as the name of her fashion houses. Although surprised at first, he jumped into lawyer mode right away. He was certain that Katie's use of the Logan name was a trademark violation, so Katie wouldn’t be able to use it. Carter set out to ensure they still owned the trademark and that nothing would be an issue.
Brooke told Ridge that she was the only Logan in the fashion industry for decades. There was no place for Katie to suddenly use the name and sponge off of her. Brooke ranted about why it wasn’t okay for Katie to steal the Logan name, while Carter searched for the status of the name.
Ridge didn’t think Katie was a threat to their company, so it wasn’t that deep. Carter noticed that the trademark had expired, which sent Brooke and Ridge into a panic. Ridge wanted Carter to get it back, but time was of the essence. Unaware that Liam was also trying to register the trademark, both Carter and Liam raced at the exact same time, hoping to come out victorious.
At the beach house, Electra asked Will to show his work and explain why he thought Dylan was homeless. He explained that her car was filled with all of her items. Electra didn’t think that was sufficient proof to jump to that conclusion, but Will assured her that it was different. Everything that Dylan owned was jammed into her car. Electra refused to believe she was homeless and thought maybe she was in the process of moving.
Electra thought Dylan would’ve confided in her if it were true. She laid out all the things Dylan had going for her that made her homelessness slightly implausible. Will felt guilty and wanted to help her through it, and Electra concurred. Electra wondered how long Dylan had been homeless, and questioned if she’d been without a place to live throughout the entire duration of their friendship.
Electra hoped Dylan’s college had a program that would help her get on her feet. She knew that rent was expensive in Los Angeles, but she didn’t think Dylan would end up desperate and struggling. Outside of the house, Dylan paused while she contemplated entering. Inside, Will and Electra believed that, for the time being at least, that night, they could allow Dylan to stay there as a means of helping.
Dylan used the outdoor shower, unaware of the conversation about the state of her life taking place inside. Back inside, Will looked up information on the growing homelessness in the area. After what appeared to be a PSA about being homeless, Dylan continued to shower outside, seemingly insinuating that this was her first real shower in quite some time.
Dylan finished her shower, and overhead Will and Electra discussing how she was living in her car. Electra was determined to find a way to help through a friend with her ongoing crisis. She had no idea how large an epidemic homelessness was for college students. This was much bigger than Dylan, and they wanted to help their friend.
Dylan finally entered the house, and she tried to downplay it, saying it wasn’t what it looked like. Electra comforted her and told her they wanted to help her through it. They were worried. She asked if Dylan was doing okay, but Dylan was embarrassed at the state of her car when Will saw it. The apartment Dylan tried to get fell through, and after she ran out of money, she was forced to leave the hotel room she had been staying in.
