The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, May 22, 2025: Carter gave Daphne a sad surprise

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

A sad and pensive Daphne took in the scent of her own fragrance in a dressing room and thought about Carter. Zende found her, so Daphne claimed she was thinking about the success of the fashion show. "Nahh, you were thinking about Carter," he said. "You ran off on me earlier, but you can't run from your feelings. You love Carter."

"I just find it confusing. Why was Hope allowed back at Forrester? She stole the company from the Forrester family," she said. "I believe her presence is bad for the company. I don't know why Steffy would ever let her back. I'm not concerned with Hope going after Carter anymore. Hope's looking for love elsewhere. I'm certain of it," Daphne added.

Zende pointed out that Carter instigated the coup, but he was allowed back. Daphne insisted that Hope was driving Carter to do things against his nature and conscience.

At his loft, Hope asked Carter to never doubt her love for him. Carter offered Hope sympathy over Liam's illness. "You can count on me because I'll be loving you every step of the way," Carter promised.

Hope suggested that they start with a clean slate. "I really would like it to be just you and me again. We already have the foundation. Now we can build our future together," Hope said. Carter vowed never to let Hope down again.

After Hope left, Carter invited Daphne over to talk, which she was happy to do, but wondered why Carter seemed to be working from home. Daphne mentioned that she heard that Hope was now back at Forrester. "Is that why you're working from home? There's still some tension between the two of you?" Daphne asked.

Carter claimed he wasn't avoiding Hope. He even just saw her. "I'm sorry. You had real feelings for her. It must ot be easy, but you'll find love again," Daphne ensured. "You're right. I have," Carter said, giving Daphne the wrong idea.

"You've had quite an impact on me. I don't think I've ever felt like this about anyone, especially you. It was definitely not the plan," Daphne said as she put her arms around Carter's neck, telling him she felt vulnerable but wanted to take a leap of faith. "I think I've fallen in love with you," she added.

Carter had to finally be honest with Daphne. "I meant what I said. I have found love again, but it's with Hope," Carter said. "I don't want to hurt you, but Hope and I are together again."

When Taylor found Brooke in the design office with her laptop, Brooke couldn't help marveling at the continuous positive press from the fashion show. "You and Ridge? I would think that would be old news by now," Taylor said.

Taylor then had to admit that Brooke played a large part in the fashion show's success. "You certainly caught everyone's attention," she said. "Yes, that moment Ridge and I shared on the runway caught everyone's attention, too," Brooke noted. Taylor agreed that the moment was good for the company.

"Only the company?" Brooke asked. "As far as I can tell, that's as far as it goes," Taylor replied. She told Brooke that Ridge was with her because he wanted to be. "It's his choice and he's chosen me," Taylor added.

When Brooke was alone again, a giddy Hope walked in and found her mother looking sad and hurt. Brooke told Hope about her encounter with Taylor. "She feels pretty confident about her future with Ridge," Brooke lamented. She was still sure Ridge was her destiny.

In Eric's office, Katie continued to hound Ridge about reuniting with Brooke. "You and Brooke are always meant to be together," Katie said. She handed Ridge a copy of the Eye on Fashion cover featuring Brooke, so Ridge flashed back to watching Brooke come down the runway as he had so many times before over the last month.

"I know you made a commitment to Taylor, but you gotta be honest with yourself. You miss Brooke," Katie declared. Ridge admitted that it was an epic moment when Brooke came out on stage in the updated Portofino dress. "There are many epic moments you've shared with my sister," Katie pointed out.

Ridge once again reminded Katie that he was with Taylor now and that was that. "I'm a different man now. My word needs to mean something or else I have nothing," Ridge insisted, but Katie disagreed. "You have nothing if you aren't true to yourself," she said.

"I'm with Taylor. I am where I want to be. I am not going to hurt her anymore. I've done enough of that," Ridge said. He claimed to still love Brooke, but he also loved Taylor. "I broke her heart, literally. I'm not going to do it again," Ridge said. As Katie left, Taylor walked in.

"Let me guess. She was here to lobby to get you to go back to Brooke," Taylor surmised. Ridge was pleased and impressed to hear that Taylor had complimented Brooke on the success of the fashion show. Taylor admitted she was confident in Ridge's love for her, saying, "This is our time. This is our chapter. And it's going to be the most beautiful chapter."
