The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, September 1: Liam told Hope he was the only one for her

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful

In Eric's office, Beth continued begging her parents for a picnic with pizza. Wen Hope suggested that she and Beth check out some new dresses in the design office, so Carter got his chance to talk to Liam alone.

"Hope and I are grateful that you're doing okay. We've been praying for your recovery. It would have been devastating for Beth to lose her father," Carter said. Liam promised that he was here to stay. Liam began to talk of how precious and short life can be, prompting Carter to tell him that you have to hold onto love.

"Exactly, you gotta make the most of it," Liam agreed. Carter countered, "That's exactly what I intend to do with Hope." Liam asked Carter if he and Hope planned to marry.

Carter laughed and said, "She is wearing my engagement ring, Liam." So, Liam asked if they had set a date. "What's the point in waiting?" Carter asked rhetorically.

In the design office, Beth modeled clothing for Hope. Ivy soon walked in and complimented Beth. "No one told me we were expecting royalty today," Ivy gushed. When Beth walked off to try on more clothing, Ivy told Hope that she wanted to talk to her about Liam.

Hope acknowledged that Liam was doing better. She was so grateful that Beth would still have her father around. As Ivy sang Liam's praises, Hope grew confused. "Where are you going with this, Ivy?" Hope asked.

"I used to think that Liam and I could have a life together. I still wish that we could, actually, but it turns out that there's only one woman he loves, Hope. And that woman is you," Ivy answered.

Ivy explained that she told Liam how she felt about him, but Liam rejected her and said he only had eyes for Hope. "I know that you're engaged to Carter and he is a wonderful and amazing man, but...look at precious Beth. You and Liam have so much history together...you get a second chance, so please just take it. Make your life with Liam," Ivy implored.

After Ivy left, Liam appeared for some warm moments with Beth and Hope. When Beth went to change, Hope asked Liam what he and Carter had spoken about. Liam said they just talked about how fragile life is.

"If you're really, really lucky, you find your person, the one...If you are so lucky, you hold onto that one and never let it go," Liam said. "Carter wants to spend his life with you, and you are his one. And I respect Carter, he's a good man, but I don't believe that he is your one. I think I am...the biggest mistake I made was letting you go. I'm not going to make that mistake again."

Hope looked over at Beth, so Liam said, "That is our daughter. That is our whole life. We're a family forever."

At Li's place, Sheila tried to get through to Luna and told her that Will and Electra seemed very serious. "I can tell an uptight prude when I see one and that girl is textbook. That girl is nothing but a tease," Luna insisted. Sheila said that Electra seemed sweet, but Luna didn't believe that guys wanted sweet. "Whose side are you on anyway?" Luna asked.

"I'm on the side that doesn't want to see you go back to prison. Luna, Will can't know about you," Sheila said. "Oh, Will knows about me all right," Luna replied with a sly smile.

Sheila was blunt with Luna and told her that Will barely even knew she existed. "I don't mean to say this to hurt you, but you really need to know how much Will loves Electra," Sheila gently told her granddaughter. Luna was sure that Will and Electra would never have sex, but Sheila didn't buy it.

"Like it or not, I am certain that tonight is the night for Will and Electra," Sheila said. Luna insisted that Electra would never go through with it, saying, "She loves stringing him along."

Sheila felt that Will seemed devoted to Electra. "Why can't you have a little faith in me and recognize that I'm right for Will and Electra is so wrong?" Luna asked. Sheila pointed out that Will didn't even know that Luna was alive. Luna was not giving up.

"I'm not going to let anyone stop me. Especially not Electra Forrester," Luna spat.

In the Forrester guest house, Will and Electra continue enjoying their romantic evening together. "We can shut out the world like nothing else matters," Will said. The pair declared their love as Will told Electra she was the only one for him. They continued to kiss as Will tried not to think about his drunken night with a strange girl.

Electra thanked Will for being patient with her. "I hope tonight is worth the wait," she said. The couple then fell into bed and made love for the very first time.
