So, um, The Bold and the Beautiful's Liam is going to live after all. How 'bout that? But was he ever dying, or was this one big elaborate ruse that makes absolutely no sense, but better make sense one of these days?
Has Dollar Bill lost a million dollars — and his mind?

It was quite a week for Bill Spencer, a man who started it by begging Ridge, Taylor, and Steffy to let him see his son when they had no say in the matter and who ended it thinking he saved his son's life by allowing a strange doctor to cut into his brain.
Seriously, who does that? Who allows a doctor to just tell you about an experimental brain procedure that needs to be performed at an undisclosed secret location and say, sure, go do that to my son who just survived a gunshot wound? Bill did no research into whatever it was that Grace was proposing, did no research into the doctor who allegedly pioneered this procedure, and didn't even remember the doctor's name?
How does it not register with Bill that something isn't kosher here? We get that he was stunned when Hope blurted out Liam's brain tumor diagnosis and fatal prognosis, but how dumb can he be? Then again, this is the man who thought Luna Nozawa deserved a second chance with a pardon and then sent her out into the night to terrorize his fictional Los Angeles fashion friends — and his sons — before (allegedly) succumbing to a bullet from her own gun?
So far, the only person looking at things askance is Finn. Bridget thinks things are a little hokey, but when Finn saw that it looked as if Liam never had a tumor, he clearly realized this didn't pass the sniff test.
Did Liam have a tumor? Let's see...

When Liam was brought into the hospital, he was said to have a simple brain bleed. That easily could have been caused by all the times that Liam has fallen and hit his head over the years. After all, he is known for that almost as much as he is known for being Waffler Jr, a man who can't make up his mind between two women.
It was Grace who told Finn that the unseen neuro team had diagnosed Liam with an inoperable brain tumor. It was also Grace who sent every message between Liam and his neuro team while seeming especially concerned with Liam's case over all her other cases. Was she lying about Liam's tumor all along and prescribing Liam meds to make him dizzy and blur his vision?
Every single aspect of what Grace did over the last week seems fishy. From the way she was looking at Bill as he fretted over Liam to the way that she HAD to have the cool million wired before anything could happen. And Bill? He just forked over the cash, no questions asked.
Also, why was Grace performing the surgery? Why was there no oxygen? And why did she make a tiny incision with a scalpel when brain surgery would have required a drill? Grace even had the money wired to herself, cause she obviously owed someone. Does she have the same gambling addiction her ex-husband had? Is she trying to help Reese with something? Did Bill seem like an easy mark? Did she plan this for Liam? And why Liam? We fear some of these questions might never be answered.
IF Liam never had a tumor...

Then, this story needs to be seriously explained. This started out as a very compelling death and dying story with Scott Clifton, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, and Annika Noelle doing some of their best work ever. Liam's insistence on making the most of every minute with his daughters was bittersweet, while Hope's insistence on Liam considering the people he'd leave behind was very real and thought-provoking.
We didn't think that The Bold and the Beautiful would go another miracle cure route after doing the same story a year and a half ago with Eric. Not only did Eric get a miracle mystery cure, but he also had a mystery illness. We knew what Liam's illness was, but he still ended up with a miracle mystery cure — if he even had an illness at all.
If Liam's tumor was just a scam from the start, it feels like the audience has been scammed by taking a human and compelling story and turning it into something just plain weird.
Talk, talk, talk, and more talk

At least Hope's big mouth and the revelation about Liam's (alleged) tumor gave the FC crowd something to talk about. And talk they did. Did you know that Luna stalked Steffy and was crazy scary and nuts? Did you know that Liam is the best husband and dad that ever was? (He wasn't.) Did you know that everyone had to come together to support poor Liam, even if they hated one another and wanted to claw the other's eyes out? (We're looking at you, Taylor and Brooke.)
Did you know Will is sad, and Electra is just amazed that all of this happened, but she should have known, since this was Luna after all? Oh, and Sheila now has eight toes, so Steffy doesn't know whether to like her now or not — or something like that.
Basically, if you missed the previous two weeks of B&B, our faves were there to sit in Eric's office and the design office to catch us all up. For that we can be grateful...we think...
Till next week, Scoopers, when Finn may or may not figure out that his pal Grace may not be who she seems. (Did Taylor really have Broken Heart Syndrome? Hmmm...)
